Doing body work on sedan
I took my car in today to quality body works to repair a hole in my left side quarter panel. The damage was done by a snow plow. This particular body shop was highly recommended by the Infiniti dealer. I have used them in the past to paint my rear lip spoiler and liked their work. I noticed that 1/3 of the cars in the shop were Infiniti's or Nissan's. Hope everything works out with this repair.

I went to a few places before I settled with this company. Some said they would cut out a section and weld a piece of new metal. Others said they would simply push out the metal that is curled inside the panel (the 3rd pic shows this best) and reweld it. The procedure that quality body works will use will be the latter method. I am also having them do the rear bumper. All this work is at the expense of the snow plow company.

The rear quarter panel is not like the front fenders where you can just unbolt and put on a new panel. If the rear quarter panel has to be replaced, it has to be cut out. I went to about 6 shops and not one of them had that as an option. The way it was explained to me seemed like a simple and standard procedure.
I am just lucky the plow stopped or the whole left side would have been torn off.
