noise when clutch is pressed in when floored

Today I reached the 1,200 mile mark (actually my step dad did). So I just got back from a drive and I floored it a few times. None from a stop, just from second and third gear rolls, and only through one gear, and then I'd shift to 5th or 6th. But when the rpms got up to 6.5-7k, I'd shift and as I put the clutch in, their is a loud noise, it's not a grind cause it's not when going into the next gear, just immediately and the whole time the clutch pedal is down when the engine is at high rpms. Is this normal or what? Am I doing something wrong, only been driving manual about 12 times but I am completely able to drive it around town without stalling, etc. I don't know how to race yet though.

It's normal. It's the flywheel spinning down.

That's a common complaint from 05/06 owners. The 05/06 cars have a different clutch setup than 03/04 which didn't have this "problem"
