So the general consensus is about $500 -1000 dollars over invoice is normal?

I think that is typical/average/decent. But the dealer will always welcome $14,000 over MSRP as well.

I got a 2004.5 G35x loaded with everything you can get including navigation, 25K miles, out the door $20,000.00.
