Re: g35 sedan vs. audi a4 1.8 t
I have the standard suspension in my sedan. And no,
I cannot tolerate any steering wheel shake. My steering
wheel does not shake at any speed, be it 30, 55, 70 or 110 mph!

They are both great cars, i know cause i own both of them. Cant really go wrong on either one. You should have expected the replies that you got by posting here, Im sure everyone here is a bit biased. If you posted which options you were looking at with either car it would help a bit. You should also check out www.audizine.com and see what the guys think about G35 vs A4. I wish the G35 had some of the stuff the A4 has and vice versa. PM me if u have any specific questions

Re: g35 sedan vs. audi a4 1.8 t
I test drove an A4 3.0 CVT before getting my G35. It was a pretty nice ride. I don't think I'd have settled for a 1.8, though. To be honest, I liked the Volvo S60 more than the Audi. Of course, since it seems like FWD cars don't bother you, there's also the TL Type S.
I wanted a RWD sports sedan, so the final decision was between a BMW 330i or a G35 (of course, to keep the price the same, it would have to be a 325i.. once again, underpowered). Cadillac's CTS is nice, though when I bought my G, they had the 3.2L engine, and they're putting a new 3.6L engine in them now that nearly matches the G35 in power -- that's also worth a look. .

Re: g35 sedan vs. audi a4 1.8 t
I just picked up my '04 sedan last week, love it so far. Back in May when I was test driving I also checked out the G35C, 325i, and the A4 1.8T (w/ quattro and sport suspension). Here's my take on them...325i had a pretty solid engine (though the G35 still wins easily), and the clutch was pretty decent. The A4 had great build quality and the aesthetics are at least on par with the G35, perhaps better (in my opinion anyway). It handles great with the quattro and sport suspension, but the 1.8 just doesn't have nearly enough power for that car (weighs the same as the G35 sedan) and the shifting is downright sloppy compared to the G35. Bottom line came down to the 325i being too pricey for what you got, and then between the G35 and the A4 it was basically a matter of performance. Sure, the G35 is a little bigger by a few inches in almost all dimensions, but it handles just as well as the A4 with a lot more 'go' built in. I didn't bother driving the 3.0 simply because it was out of my price range, but if I could have gotten that with the options I wanted for the same price as my G35 it would have been a harder decision. Good luck with whichever you go with, they're both good cars. Oh and by the way, I'm only 23 with no significant other and no kids in the near future. I've re-thought my decision to get the sedan instead of the coupe a few times, but I'm definitely happy with my choice.

Don't exagerate the 3.0 Audi Quatro A4 that I was looking at stickered for 36 and change vs the G35 that I bought which was 34 and change... the AWD is worth the extra 2K other than that they were similarly appointed with options.

Re: g35 sedan vs. audi a4 1.8 t
2004 G35 6MT, Premium, Trunk Mat: MSRP = 33,505
2004 A4 3.0 6MT Quattro, Premium, Sport, Cold Weather, Rear airbags: MSRP = 37,905
Last time I checked that was a $4k+ difference with comparable options besides AWD. Is the AWD worth it? Depends on your needs and where you live...for me it's not, for you maybe it is. I expect that the AWD system on the G35 will be an additional $2k over the current price with the same options, and it will still be $2k less expensive before dealer negotiations.

My car stickered 34,700 with Premium/Winter/5AT the Audi A4 I looked at was 36,XXX with similar options...
What is your point of arguing with me? I don't care what this guy buys ... why do you? I just gave my opinion... I wouldn't let a few k even 4 make my decision on a 30+K car.
