How many girls drive a G35? Younger (16 - 22)? Older (23 - up)? I'm a guy...but till this day...i havent seen a girl driving a G35. And i still havent seen a guy or girl driving a G35 that's my age (18). So just being curious.

Re: girls...

I’m a girl and I’ll even admit my age, I’m 28. Here in AZ, I see as many women as I do men driving the G. For a while there, I was starting to worry that the G was a chick car, but now I think it’s about even.

PS. How about a third category, I don’t really consider a 24-year-old ‘Older’. I definitely don’t consider myself old!!

Re: girls...

Good point about the ladies in AZ driving Gs...I see them almost every day...I even lost 3 2004 Maxima sales to the G35 Sedan, and each one said they liked how the G looked better...Couldn't argue...

Re: girls...

I don’t know what I’m going to do to my G. For starters I’d like to chrome my rims, but I figure as soon as I do that then I’ll rash them on a curb, so I haven't done anything yet.

One of the difficulties with doing anything to my G is that one of our other cars is an S2000. So, there’s the ongoing battle between whose car will get the cool toy and who will have to wait ‘til next time. I think I’ll probably wait out my warrantee for the most part.

How about you?

Re: girls...

Chroming your rims will add extra weight to them. That
of course results in less horsepower to the wheels.
I believe the idea is to get the lightest wheels you can.

Re: girls...

That brings up a couple questions (this is the first car nice car I’ve owned, so there are many things I have yet to learn—that’s why I read G35driver!):

1. How thick of a chrome layer will they put on?
2. Won’t they have to sand (or something similar) my rims slightly anyway?

This probably sounds silly, but I have the stock 17in rims and I really would like to keep the Infiniti logo.

Re: girls...

It's not a very thick layer, but I really don't think chrome belongs on this ride...My dealership used to chrome the 350Z wheels all the time and I hated it...Several companies that make alloys can put an Infiniti centercap on your wheels...I'd give the G35 the toys- not the S2000...The VQ35DE is so much more efficient than any Honda motor...Honda makes their engines like they're going into a motorcycle- you have to rev past 4000 RPM to get any real power, whereas the Nissan motors have more low-end grunt...Just something to think about...If you want chrome, go ahead- they're going to add weight though...

Re: girls...

Sorry, I have to disagree with you on the chrome rims, everything on my G is either black or chrome, except the rims (and the stupid willow headliner, sorry--I don’t like any shades of brown, it’s just the way I am). They had a black on black G with chromed rims in the showroom when we were looking and I liked it, so that’s what got me started with the idea. Thanks for pointing out that I can put the center cap on new rims, now I probably will start looking into new ones!

I must admit, the S2000 has always sounded like a motorcycle to me, so your comment about Honda engines supports my theory. Actually, the S2000 is a nice car, but I’ll take my G over it any day!

Re: girls...

No need to say "sorry" for disagreeing...You have to realize that I come from a racing background and I immediately dilike chrome because it weighs more than alloys...On SUVs I don't care- on sport sedans and performance cars I don't like it...Just personal preference...
