I was trying to find an old thread were some guys were discussing this, IIRC it was a coupe midpipe thread...
When I installed my exhaust and midpipe I tapped on the driveshaft and it felt like some sort of fiberglass composite (no doubt with something reinforcing it underneath).
Anyone want to volunteer to go underneath their G and check?

According to the link that someone post to the 350z forum, the 350z has a composite with steel reinforcement driveshaft.
Also someone on that forum was proposing on make carbon-fiber driveshafts for the G35 and 350Z. I know the sedan has probably a longer driveshaft since they are longer than the coupes.

I did the same as woshiagni when I had my car on the lift while I was changing out the springs... it def didn't feel like steel...
