Help needed ASAP b/f I turn in my lease

Today I put my car back to stock except for the UR UD crank pulley. I took off the crawford Plenum, and I put my OEM intake plenum back on, I took all my Gordy Grounding Wires off, I took off the Stillen/K&N Typhoon CAI and put the stock intake back on too.

When I finished, I doubled checked that I had torqued all bolts and nuts back on, connected the hosed towards the back of the plenum for the Upper Plenum, the Throttle Body, etc...and then I hooked the Throttle Body connecting Harness back up, the MAF Harness and lastly the hose on the passenger side of the Plenum and then I reconnected the negative terminal on the battery. The whole task took a few hrs.

When I started the car it started fine, it reved fine...in park, and there were no idiot lights on...but when I drove it across town upshifts were lazy and harsh, and then I noticed a funny noise under the car, or seemingly under the car although nothing was touched there, and then I gave it a WOT blast to see if it would shift sooner, but it actually would not shift at all...it went right up to redline b/f I backed off...it was like it would not have even stopped revving had I not let off...and when I shifted it into Manual Mode (I have an automatic if that was not obvious) it would not go into Manual Mode...it just kept saying D...except for one split second I saw 4, but it went right back to D....so I am lost...and freaking out b/c I have to turn this thing in this week for my 05 Coupe...

Please help.

I have a Technosquare Reflash and that's it otherwise...Am I missing something here???

Almost sounds like you're in some weird limp mode. Did you reset your ECU? What type of TS flash are running?

I just had the basic Flash for $595 a few years back. From what I remember, I don't need to reset my ECU with the Techosquare Reflash...and correct me if I'm wrong, but having the battery unplugged for a few hrs would be resetting the ECU would it not?

It's not in limp mode..that happened once when it was raining cats and dogs two years ago...

It's just shifting and driving like A$$...and not even going into manual mode at all???

Yes, having the battery disconnected would reset the ECU. You're running a performance flash not just an L spec unlock type flash.

Do you think you have any leaks around the plenum? New gasket?

your ecu is tuned for mods you no longer have on your car. I would guess that could be the cause of your car driving like sht.

Yes, performance Flash. I don't even know what the L spec unlock type flash is?

I reused the Plenum gasket, which is one of those metal gaskets, b/c it looked mint...absolutely perfect.

I just let it idle for a good 10 minutes...and I noticed a little sputter every so often...and it's consistant...and when I go around to the exhaust I can hear it coming out of the exhaust as a weird type pulse...I am just lost.

I took it out for another ride and felt like crap...it actually moves fine once you get going, but initially there is some hesitation/sputter...and this time the manual mode worked until I got into it while shifting up to 3 from 2 and it went right into D at that point??? So I turned around and brought it back home.

I was wondering that too...and of course it's sunday night and not a #*#(#@ week day where anyone is actually open to get advice from...but I am thinking that's too easy b/c Technosquare is not supposed to do crap under 3000 RPMS and I can't see any of that effecting the shifting, idle and lack of an ability to run in manual mode.

Technosquare tunes for more timing, fuel, etc above 3K rpms, no top speed limiter, 500 rpms more in Manual Mode and not much more if I recall...so at idle and under 3K rpms I am thinking the car should be normal.

If you took off the airbox perhaps you moved the air flow sensor around? You are probably throwing a code. Take it to a nissan dealer that won't care about the car and have them read the code. Good luck Boss - what are you getting now? GT500??

Hey man! I got a leftover 05 G35 Coupe 5AT!

When you say moved around the air flow sensor what exactly are you referring to b/c I have moved the MAF sensor around 100 times when experimenting with CAI's and all the like and it never did any of this $hit...I can't see it being that.

There are no codes on the DASH...so it can't be throwing a code right?

Even if the MAF was screwed up some how that would not affect the car's shifting and or ability or lackthereof to go into manual mode though ya know?

I would remove the +/- wires from the battery and then remove and reconnect any connector you messed with. I would then loosen all the plenum bolts, lift the plenum to make sure nothing got snagged, gasket, outside debris, and then retorque the bolts to the correct in/lb and sequence. Then reattach the battery cables and see where that gets you. I would also check any connections you may have bumped when your grounding wires, like at the tranny, ECU, and TCU locations.

Yeah, if I have to, that's what's next.

Do you know WTF controls the shifting...is it the ECU? The only thing I touched for wires that go near either is the grounding kit I installed...but after I unhooked the grounding cables that were on the TCU (on the passenger side wall) and ECU (behind the glove box), I replaced the bolts as they were...I mean it's not like the car even came with any grounding bolts there...it's really weird.

TCU controls that, so you better check the bolts and connections there also

Any idea specifically what I would be looking for...at least to start? I mean, I only touched three bolts behind the glove box and all three were put back...but even if I didn't put any back the wiring harnesses to both the TCU and ECU were not touched so they should work even if they were hanging there ya know.

since you are indeed shifting and your car is running (but not shifting properly?), I would go there again and check if any bolts or harness are lose =)

+ I will try do the trick of a 12hours disconnection in the -ve battery terminal just in case if it just needs a reset.

Other than that, you can actually just bring your car in a random Infiniti dealer that you dun care and get them check your car =)

Good luck,

Maybe I'm not reading this right, but it appears that you disconnected the throttle body connector during plenum swpas. If so, you need to do the TB relearn procedure. This may be the answer to all your problems.
