I got my car back from the tint shop [that our local Cadillac dealer uses for their cars] and they tinted AROUND the third brake light. I thought it looked tacky, but the tint shop says its the way they have to do the G35, CTS's and a few other cars because there is no way to get in behind the brake light without completely removing the rear deck which they said I did not want them to do

Did the rest of you get your third brake light tinted or not?

No problem here..............We've tinted well over 100 Gsedans last yr and never had to remove the rear deck nor cut out the brake light. It is a little tricky, but it can be done. Some of our customers from this site could attest to that.

Hey Wil. I've been trying to PM you about tinting/paint protection, but your box is always full. Send me an e-mail: ndehlinger@yahoo.com if you read this.
Thanks,
Noah

Had my windows done 20% with Madico Pro last week and they did a great job. They covered the whole back window, no cutout. The guy took half a day and removed the door panels instead of smashing the rubber window seal down into the door. I was very impressed, and only $220. I used to get alot of my cars done by another company, but it cost more because they were a franchise. They only took 1-1/2 hours, cut the tint on the window, which cuts the outside rubber trim sometimes, and pushed the inside rubber seal down into the window. I always hated that, but thought that was the only way they could do it until this last time.
If you're in Atlanta, check out Atlanta Tint and Detail in Norcross. The guy's been doing tint for 17 years. Highly recommended.

Can anyone recommend a tint place in southern California that does a good job? Looking for a place that can tint to the edge, doesn't cutout the third brake light, and doesn't smash in the rubber seal.

Cost is less of a concern but I'm always lookin for a good deal... thanks!

EDIT: Oops, should have been more specific... looking for a place in the 626 area code or in Irvine. Tinting my new IP 6MT sedan

DaveB,
Any pics available? I would like to do the same, but am unsure if the 2 different tints would look okay looking at the outside of the car from the side.

I had my car done weds morn. Although the back window was tight the window was done with one piece and covered area where brake light was. Not sure this would apply to those with true brake light since my car had trunk spoiler and hump on rear deck for light? Went 20% all around it turned out great. I am glad I didnt get timid and revert to 35%.

Wil, mine wasn't done that way, it was already tinted by the dealer, but since you know how to do it, perhaps you can recommend a way to clean the glass behind the brake light, I have tried many things, and all leave it less clean than I would like, I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Just got mine tinted today 20%.... Turned out good
I agree with those who said not to get Limo... you can't see $hit at night with it... very dangerous backing up with limo tint...

I don't have any pics of my car, but here's my friend's black G35 with 35% front and 20% in the rear. I liked it so much I did it to my black G35. Only in the most direct sunlight can you tell a slight difference in darkness.

Madico is coming out w/ their new high-end IR film (nano-technology film) that is to be used to compete w/ Huper and V-Kool. We will be testing this film next month for Madico and will be ready for sale in April. Cost will be in the neighborhood of $400-$490 depending on vehicle and number of windows. It will offer better heat reduction at a higher VLT (light transmission) percentage than even metallized limo tint. Another benefit to it is it will not disrupt radio, cell phone, and other wireless signals.
