6 MT Questions.

I will be in the market for a new car very soon and the G35 has caught my eye, as well as the new TL. First of all, I test drove the car and it handled like it was on rails, it went everywhere I pointed it, effortlessly. I have some questions about the 6 MT.The car did not seem as fast as advertised, is this a result of a failsafe break-in procedure? Shifting into third gear was a problem, it's almost as if I had to force it,does the shifting get better? Are there any stock and modded dynos of these cars? I just want to be sure before I purchase one, any help is much appreciated.

Re: 6 MT Questions.

modman- I have a 6MT that I purchased in February. The car seems to get faster as it is broken in- even beyond the normal break in period. I noticed the notchiness of the shifting when I purchased the car. That too has become more effortless as the car has been broken in. There has been a noticeable improvement since I turned 9K miles on both the speed and shifting...

Ditto for me. I had problems getting into 3rd (or was it 5th), but anyhow all is fine now with 2,000 miles.

Re: 6 MT Questions.

I thank you all, that puts me at ease. I guess a failsafe mode was programed for the G35, smart on Infinitis part to do this, 30 days and I think this car will be in my garage. the new TL will be about 5 to 6 grand more and will not have the performance of the G, I also thought of buying and 04 SRT-4 because of its performance to value ratio, 230 H.P. to the wheels and a quafe limited slip diff, but Im 38 and couldn't see myself in the fast and furious crowd (no offense to those who are) but the G35 has great performance, looks, interior and a heck of a lot of class.

Re: 6 MT Questions.

You are coming to the same conclusion as the rest of us. The G35 is a grown up version of a sports car without all the German attitude. It's fast all all get up and looks like the kind of car a grown up drives it. If you want to live on the wild side, get the sedan with the stick. It's the sleeper.....

G35/S/MT....this car rocks!
