Hey now! I'll admit when I'm at fault and I'll apologize/admit when I'm wrong (as long as I think I'm wrong )

Just make sure to look over the new paint in direct sunlight to verify it's a good match.
Well the biggest hold up became a hood hinge that didn't appear to be broken until it was completely removed after the install of the new hood wouldn't work. The next problem was that the Nismo bumper that came from the factory was bent and had a huge paint run in it when they took it out to be installed on the car. Had to send it back and get another one. Should have only taken 2 weeks - ended up taking 4.

Don't worry, at least it can be fixed. The following is what I posted on G35Driver.com back just over 1 year ago. btw - it looks like I'll either be getting a loaded '07 M45 or the new '07 G35 Sedan in Dec...

The bad news is my G35 Sedan I loved is gone...totaled .

The good news is I walked away without a scratch. Four of my airbags deployed...the 2 front, driver's side, and the left side head protection air curtain. I was going about 70 mph on the highway when a commercial truck which was working on the median pulled in front of me in the left lane; I hit him while he may have been doing about 30 mph and I was cruising at 70 mph (although since I slammed on my brakes, I may have been doing about 60 at the point of impact). As you can see from the pics (sorry they were taken on the scene with my cell phone's VGA camera), my beloved G35 was demolished, but I crawled out the front passenger door without any injuries. So, for all of you wanting to know about the true safety of your G35, don't worry, you should feel very confident that you're driving a VERY SAFE sports sedan!!

More good news...I will be driving our loaded '03 FX35 (which my wife has been driving for the past 1 1/2 years), so at least I will still be enjoying the Nissan/Infiniti VQ 280HP engine and all the FX's goodies. More fun (and safe) driving ahead. We're picking up our new Honda Pilot EXL with DVD player for my wife tomorrow.

More bad news...since I will not be driving a G35 (for a while anyway), I will not be visiting G35Driver.com too often. I will miss G35Driver.com as I have learned a lot over the past year and enjoyed many, many hours (at my wife's complaints I might add ) visiting and posting on G35Driver.com. So, for all those newbies on here...stay here and have fun! I may get a new G in early '07 or maybe a new M35/45...ha ha. So, for now, everyone take care and I may see you soon.

I leave my hitch in for that exact reason. I had left it in after a trip to the lake and was rear ended on Monday. I had no damage. I have been hit 2 more times since then with no damage and will not take it off now. If that makes me an a$$ then I guess I am. I dont do it to cause others damage just to protect my truck and it seems to work.

^^^I remember seeing that thread. Trey found that one shortly after we got the first G (mine, then his) and we commented on how safe they are. It's always best when no one is hurt.

If i'm not mistaken, I believe some states outlaw the use of a hitch without a trailer. I am not sure if it's in Texas or not, but it's not like it matters. I have never seen or heard a cop pull someone over for a hitch violation.

I can see where people might see a driver being an A-hole for having the hitch in....but irony is a beotch. I'd like see the view of truck owners after a hitch goes through the front of their radiator.

But it's good no-one was hurt, though.

Ok. I forced myself to get up and go downstairs and take some after pics. LOL!

The pic on the interior (3rd pic) shows a piece of plastic that comes out and turns to the right on the picture. Well, that had been pushed into the belt and was completely eaten up.

No it wasn't like that. LOL

I will say though that it was something that I have done thousands of times since I have been driving and never had an accident. It's kinda scary when you think of it that way.

Good to hear it was just the car that was damaged.
So what did you do to the trailer hitch? (bend it?)
Also I was curious if your air bags deployed?

Airbag did not deploy at all and the other vehicle including hitch didn't have any noticable damage at all
