Hi Guys

Is 350 a better choice that 330. How about 340 , that i think is better than 330 as it tells u the name of the road where to turn

I am currently using a PDA with TomTom Nav 5.21, which I think is the same software as TomTom 300. IMO TT is better than the Garmin C330. The Garmin maps lack detail like next street name in routing. The UI is very easy to use, but so is TomTom. I know some people complain about the accuracy of TT Teleatlas maps, but at least in CA TT maps have been great. In TT you can also change maps colors, voices (Homer Simpson, **** star, Darth Vader, etc. Gimmicky, but cool from time to time).

I have friend who works at Alpine's GPS division in torrence. He told me that Alpine makes the Navigation system in Honda/Acura and Chryslers. The voice command technology is licensed from IBM. Alpine just release a new single Din flip-out 7 inch type NAv system. Perhaps the interface is just as good as Acura's? Alpine also release a portable nav unit, but that is just a Taiwanese ODM.

Untrue, Please don't post if you don't know what you are talking about. And I am so glad your voice prompt sounds like Homer Simpson, awesome .

It was late last night, but I should have been more specific. In the routing mode it does not show the next street name while cruising down the road.

Check out the FineDrive 400 or Lowrance 500C. The 500c has a 5" screen, but it's on the bulky side. The FD400 is a 4" screen, and very comapct. Both have fully detailed NA maps. I have both and, have had no problems with either.

Is 340 a better deal than 330 and went and checked out the 330 and it was pretty good but the only thing is that it does not tell the name of the road where to turn it shows on the display the but the voice command just says " Turn right in 02. miles " , i hear that 340 is same price which mentions the road names

Any advise please

Which PDA with which Nav? I have a Palm T|X (great handheld) and am thinking about their Nav system which uses Tom Tom 5.

Thanks,

I have not used the 340 but I just checked it out on the Garmin site. I love my c330 but the couple of extra features on the c340 might make it the one to get if I was replacing my c330.

How come no one is talking about the TomTom 910? Suppose to be top of the line. Has anyone try it?

i been having a lot of problems with the tom tom 910 and 510 at work... somethings wrong with the software currently...

but the ttm700 and ttm300 is awesome..
if you were to go with garmin... get the c340 its worth that extra 100 dollars...

Lots of different opinions here, but I'll throw in my 2 cents...

I have the TomTom 700, and have been very pleased. I have not used ht Garmin model, but I don't have anyhting bad to say about the TomTom. I also have a Garmin eTrex, and usb with my laptop running Delorme and MS software. I bought the TomTom with high expectations (and kinda thought I would have to return it from being let down).

Good luck with the purchase.

I've not used anything but a TomTom 300. I won mine from Nissan Australia - Larvewe. Problem is I dont generally not know where I'm going.
Its a cute little unit and fits right in with the 35s interior.
