How long for a 6mt 2007?

I know it will take a little while after the autos come out to get the manual trannys at the dealerships but about how long does that generally take? I will take nothing but a manual...although the shifter paddles in the new g will be sweet.

My dealership thinks that the 6MT will be available from the get go......but take that with a grain of salt.

see...mine told me differently. they said that they would get only a few 07s when they first come out and then gradually increase as time progresses...all these being autos.

Well I guess that is why we have to take everything with a grain of salt eh? We should find out in a couple of weeks which dealer is right.

It could also depend on how your dealer ranks in terms of sales in the Infiniti system, that makes a difference, so if you have a smaller dealer, it might make a difference.

Yeah! The size of the dealer really makes a difference, not just with Infiniti, when I bought my '00 Mustang GT vert, it had to be ordered, the dealer I went through had to wait for their "allotment" to get mine. #4863

that could be it. the infiniti dealer, and the only infiniti dealer within a 50 mile radius that i know of, is rather small. they only had a handful of 06's when i was looking at those.

For all practical purposes, the first few batches will likely be all auto's. I remember reading somehwere that since manuals are in such low demand, they manufacture a set amount at one time, then retool for maximum auto-production.

The only thing that may upset this, is the 07 G35 debut video which can be found on the nissannews japan site, and also elsewhere in these forums. In the video, the driver of the G35 appeared to be "shifting." I was unable to see clearly what exactly he was shifting, for it could simply be the auto in manumatic mode, but it seemed like he was throwing the shifter pretty hard, not just tapping up or down. So they may have already developed the manual? Just my speculation. Still doubtful.

If it makes you feel any better, when I ordered my 07 a couple of days ago, I could of ordered the 6MT.......so they will be available from the get go. But I agree with Ohmrwilson in that the first batch will consist mostly of the 5AT.

In Canada only 5% M/T and 3% M/T - Navi are estimated to be sold in the first 6 months. Won't be a high priority for the fall launch here.

6MT's will be limited production at first and most of the G's will be X's in the northeast region while the south really gets the RWD sedans (w/ the exception of 6mt's). i got my dealership to order a few 6mt's right away
