Your company's HR dept has to fill out paperwork to get the discount for the company.
Yup...the Big 4 all qualify. What sucks is that I work for #5 and we don't get it...which really annoys me...

LOL

The current #5 (as opposed to the former, Andersen), is so far behind in terms of revenue, as to be irrelevant.

I don't know if you can really say irrelevant because it depends on your threshold. KPMG (which is the lowest revenue of the Big 4) has 5x the revenue we do. But E&Y & PwC (the 2 largest ones) have 4x the revenue KPMG does. So in essence, you could say it's really the Big 2.

Either way...I dun care about my company's rep. I just wish I was VPP eligible since I like the 07 G35...

Does that mean 2.5% of the ~33k will be a "delivery fee"? So a delivery fee of $800? Doesn't that wipe out the discount from the VPP discount (since it is only 1.5%)?

Invoice Price = I

Price with VPP discount = I x 0.9835
Delivery Fee = I x 0.025

Final Price = (I x 0.9825) + (I x 0.025)
Final Price = I x (0.9825 + 0.025)
Final Price = I x 1.0075

So if the invoice price is, let's say, $35,000, then the VPP price would make it (35000 x 1.0075) = $35,252.50. The VPP price is actually over the invoice price? I'm confused.

On say an '06 Maxima, it sounds like such a program would work out to be more than what someone who can go to edmunds.com could get the car for. Just using common sense, any car that's not selling, not just Nissan, would sell for below invoice. That would mean going into the dealer holdback, a point at which the dealer is still making a profit.

I work for one of the "Big 2" and wanted to confirm this posting, so I went to the dealership this weekend and inquired. I don't know what to believe now, cuz the salesman I talked to said that the VPP will apply to the 2007 G35s. I asked him if he was sure 3x and he said yes each time. I even told him about the article that this thread refers to. If this holds true, then VPP will be the way to go for me.

No not really, because they take % off the options also.

Put it this way, I save 3.5g with VPP on the 07 Maxima.

is there such a thing as a VPP program for pre-owned cars? If so, I might look at an M35 as well.

Conflicting responses, probably because one of them isn't very knowledgeable!

Infiniti of Pleasanton:
If it were up to us, no problem. Unfortunately it's up to Nissn-Infiniti and, in my experience, I don't see that happening for at least six months.
Infiniti of Oakland:
I believe VPP pricing applies to any Nissan product, so that should't be an issue.

Let me know when you are ready to pick one up - they should be out in November.
Note the keyword "believe". This guy obviously just wants any business.

only for new vehicles from Nissan or Infiniti ONLY

i do have plenty of preowned corporate demo vehicles -- M35 sport, M45's... and a few M35x's.

very interesting responses... the first guy is correct but sometimes they will delay the VPP program even more or sometimes they'll enable it earlier.

Sorry for drifting off-topic here, but is purchasing a "corporate demo" almost as bad as purchasing a car that was used as a loaner or rental? And too bad u don't work in Houston, cuz there are absolutely no pre-owned M's to be found anywhere.

Here's the response from Niello Infiniti:
I do it all the time and its always a very straightforward process.

Give me a call so I can let you know what sort of documents you need to provide.

you could be right or wrong... any type of pre-owned vehicle from a dealership or private seller is a risk to take. most of the corporate demos are driven by the regional reps who probably don't have a heavy foot. i know my regional director is mostly in traffic so doesn't have the time to move fast in his M35x.

i've sold plenty of the corporate demos but remember every Infiniti has a strong warranty there isn't too much to worry about.
