synthetic oil?

Dumb question, do Infinitis come filled with synth oil, or dino juice? I've never used synth before, but I figure that the new G35 is at a price/cost level where I would want to use it.....

they come filled with conventional oil. i changed at 1200 miles to sythentic and went in for my second change at 2200 (six months later). i was told by a service manager that i should wait at least til 5000 miles to change to synthetic. he says he has seen many g's go to synthetic at low mileage and have problems with oil burning because the rings never seat correctly. i had brought my own mobil 1, but went with the dealerships conventional oil until i hit 5k.

They use regular oil from the factory.
But i am gonna switch to synth at around 25-30,000 miles.
Everyone is different though.!!

I guess in the old days there was a problem with switching due to natural rubber seals. But today I believe a lot of seals are synthetic which is supposed to make the switch moot?

Does a typical Infiniti dealership offer a synth change? Do you mean even the M's get dino juice from the factory?

i think infiniti fills all their cars with regular oil. i would like to know myself why some manufacturers send their cars out with synthetic.

I think it puts the brand into another class. Can an M3 or 997 Turbo function on dino juice? Sure, but most components of these vehicles are such that marginal cost > marginal benefit, with the end user paying. But me, if the car came with it from the factory, I'd continue with it.

What troubles me is that to Infiniti, it probably would cost an extra $8-$10 to send the car off the factory line with synthetic, but they don't do it. Again, a reminder of what's what.

i guess my question was more about why some manufacturers don't worry about rings seating correctly. from what i have read and told, synthetics do not allow you rings to seat (too much lubrication). if your rings never seat, you will eventually get blow by and oil consumption problems. i know porsches and bmw m series, and calloway corvettes come with synthetic--do the do something to seat the rings during manufacturing?
