Cool 335i pricing...

Why is that such a bad thing? Prices for the 335i sedan are now on BMW USA and it starts at $39,870. Throw in metallic paint, leather, sports package, automatic w/paddle shift, premium package, navigation, sat radio, comfort access, and you are looking at $49,940.

If you want a basic 335i sedan with just metallic paint, leather, and sports package it will still cost $44,370.

If the new G were 10 steps behind and cost the same price, then I would see a problem. For the prices they are asking for the 335i sedan, it better be nicer than the G.

I think Infiniti is actually a better product. Thats what im trying to say. Better handling, better performance per dollar. It says that in the articel but magazines cant get past the fact that they have to support whoever gives them more advertising dollars.

Any good quotes from the article? I am curious as to what they say about the handling, steering feel, and transmission.

Heres a few quotes:

"Indeed, the car is an even more convincing competitor to the standard-bearer from Munich."

"The revised engine achieves the same result not with electronic sandbagging but with two symmetrical air intakes that become more effective as the speed rises, so the engine actually delivers more than the advertised 306 hp at higher speeds."

"New variable-assist steering is much lighter at parking speeds-not a change we favor- but it firms up nicely once velocity increases. We're happier to report that a redesigned front suspension goes a long way toward quelling kickback through the steering wheel in bumpy corners, which was a weakness in the old car."

"The Lime Rock experience did show the G35 to be a natural athlete. The G35 is a neutral handler with plentiful grip, but you can coax out its rear end more easily by lifting the throttle than by booting it, and the car behaves well at the limit."

"With its firmer dampers, the Sport model also displays better body control than its predecessor, yet the ride quality is very nice-and very similar to the BMW's."

Quoted out the October 2006 article in Automobile Magazine

And if you do, I swear, many of us will not even THINK about looking at another BMW ever again.

Well, these shots confirm that the rear spoiler is an add-on option and not part of the sport package (the car in the pictures has a sport package).

Not really....
It's still Pre-production.

Well knowing the way Infiniti has been packaging their cars, I think it's safe to assume that the spoiler will be a separate add-on item. Judging by the past, the G had the spoiler as either an Aero package item, or an add-on item by itself. Same goes with the M - the spoiler is an add-on item not part of the sport package. Also, according to unofficial packaging posts that have been made here, the spoiler is not listed as a Sport package item.

A spoiler it more of an eye-candy item, not a true sport performance part (not on luxury street cars at least). As such, forcing a large audience to purchase a cosmetic addition is very unlikely. If you ask me, the spoiler is out of place on this car, and if they include it in the sport package they will lose a lot of $$ because people will choose to forgo the whole package because of it.
