What are you angry for and acting all tense? Your $1,000 deposit is letting you pick one in November instead of, say, January or March or May ....

By putting a deposit down, you're not obligated to buy, right? If the price negotiation isn't successful, or you end up hating the service, you can always just leave, right (assuming your deposit is refundable)?

I swear this irritates me. The dealer here says they have no information to give anyone and they won't until they receive their "intro group" in a couple of weeks. The sales manager says they will have a few there sometime between the 20th and the 26th and then they will know more. They won't even let anyone order or reserve or anything yet - says it can't be done but I informed them that there were at least some dealers who were doing it.

Also, had the sales guy tell me that he had never had anyone come in that he talked to that knew as much about these cars as I did. Kinda sad, he's been there about 9 years and I was telling him things he didn't know.

that's BS - they should at least know their first allocation units already

the dealerships will be ordering their own in December!

Deposit and refund policies will vary by dealer, though they also be governed by law in some states/provinces. I've never heard of a deposit on a ride that wasn't refundable, at least if it's a car from the dealer's regular allocation. The dealer shouldn't have any trouble selling the car to somebody else and meanwhile, they've had the use of your money. What would happen if you cancelled on a factory order after production, I don't know, but anyone who puts down a deposit on a car should get the refund terms in writing before handing over the check.

I'll admit to having put down a $500 deposit on a car, as a lad, without having driven it, but personally, I wouldn't now put down a deposit on a car without seeing and driving it. If that means that taking delivery is delayed compared to people who put their money down months in advance, sight-unseen, so be it. It's only a car, after all. Waiting won't kill me.

Frontier Infiniti has done the same thing - not only that but if you check out the specs it lists the '06 specs. Back a few weeks ago they had a banner saying '07 G35s now in so their site doesn't seem all that accurate. Not to mention if you check out the specs section they spell Infiniti as "Infinity" .

Any pricing info?

Also, what are the model breakdowns in this initial batch?

For the local Houston folks, if you want to try to get together right after we get the car for an in-depth inspection, I'll try to accomodate.

hmm...I may try to take you up on that offer.

The closer it gets to release date, the more I check these forums 5 times a day.
