As long as any new vehicle in any state says 50 state emission car after 2005, it can be driven in California...even the stringent Diesel vehicles like the MB E320 and VW TDI's...

Gotcha, thanks for the info, I've been wondering about this topic for years (seriously). My Maxima is a car where there was a Cali. car and a 49 State car. I actually did not know that a 50 State Care existed, so was skeptical when the NYC BMW dealership told me it's not a Cali. car, it's a 50 state car. I know my mom's Honda purchased in CT had the word "California" on its label. Here's a link that discusses the labels...

i wish i were in california b/c most of our clients want the AWD so it's hard to order a mixture batch of AWD, rwd autos, rwd sport, and 6mt's.
