Playing a DVD movie

Has anyone confirmed whether or you can play a DVD movie like the M when you in park and the emergency brake is on?

I'm also surprised no leaks on prices yet with cars on the boat/trains etc and didn't someone say the cars are arriving at dealers now and nobody has seen a window sticker? What's the internet coming to.

To answer your first question.....yes and no. No you can not play a DVD movie through the Bose system. The M's audio system is DVD based, which is why you can play a DVD movie. Yes, you can play a DVD movie in the new G35 if you have a portable DVD player or other source and plug it into the AUX ports in the arm rest.

Canadian dealerships DO have pricing but I have not seen any official pricing for the US.

Well, from what I understand in the M, you can only play a DVD movie while the car is in park and not while driving. I personally think this is a good thing.

Btw Sedanman2007, I Proposed to my wife in your state. I asked her to marry me on top of Mt. Washington back in 04. I go to N. Conway every summer and love your state, it is very beautiful. I know you are a fair amount south of the White Mountains but thought I would share nonetheless.

That sucks that the G35's in-dash player is not a DVD reader. Maybe we can swap/upgrade it. I upgraded my stock Mazda6 CD player to one that plays MP3s at least. I would hate to have to use a portable device, especially when 2-prong AC power is a concern (unless you get those AC car adapters).

Let me clarify as well. From what I understand, if you plug a source that plays DVD movies into the AUX ports in the arm rest, it will play the movie on the 7.5" LCD. Again, this in only when the car is parked. This is what I have read/understood so far.....but could be wrong. All I know is that you cannot play DVD movies without an auxillary device.

That's cool canuck! My wife and I lived in MA at the time but decided to get married in NH and we had our one day honeymoon in the White Mountains (we were poor back then) Just drove up Mt Washington last year.

I am not sure about this but I think my '06 coupe dvd-based navigation as well. Does that mean that in park I can watch a DVD?

This appears to be correct since there is a video and stereo audio inputs in the center console.
