Where is everyone plugging in their radar detector?

after stumbling across this thread, it made me go out in the garage and grab my hardwire cord for my escort 8500. I mounted it like i had it in my ole 02 boosted specV. top left of the windsheild with the detector portion of it just below the tint. ran the cord down the apillar, through the dash and down to the fuses where i hooked it into a fuse like sedanman07 did.
then i popped the hood and hooked up my sunauto Hyperground voltage wires and voltage stabilizer box. should help the electronics alittle.
One interesting thing was that there is a very large pure copper ground wire that runs from the timing cover to the driverside inner fender....grounding wires are starting to show up from the factory now to help the cars run better.

But it can still pick up some reflection and in most cases the visor is only down a few minutes at any one time. Here are some pictures of my 4600 including one with visor down.

I simply unhook the visor from the right snap on, pull it about 1/2" backwards and bring it down. That way I have the Escort still fully functional and the visor down if I need it - It's just that usually I don't bother with it. My sunglasses combined with the tint strip are more than enough.
