Angry 07 G35S Problems

I hope that this isn't an indicator of things to come. We were supposed to take delivery of our car Monday night and about 3:30 I got a call from the dealer "we're having some problems" the audio system had ceased to function. No sound at all. They had Infinity on the phone and would try to get it fexed and deliver it tommorow afternoon. The next day they couldnt get the audio system to work and they were going to order a new radio and try to get it delivered by Friday. When I called on Thursday to see how things were progressing, the sales manager (the salesman was in Philadelphia for training on the car) said that the radio had arrived and that they wre installing it as we spoke. When I heard from the Salesman on Friday he was unsure if the service department would be able to get the radio installed in time to deliver the car that evening, "Friday is a short day for us and "everybody likes to close the place up and get out of here by 6:00 PM" I asked him if I needed to talk to the Sales Manager and gethim to light a fire under someones AS* to get this done. He said that he didn't think that would be necessary and that he would talk with serviceand see what he could do. He caled back in a few minutes and said that they would be finished in time to deliver the car that day. When I got to the Dealers the salesman was driving away in Our car to have it filled with gas. While going through the delivery process the salesman got a call, while the car was being fueled they noticed green fluid puddled under the car and put up on a rack to check it out. Turns out that the A/C compressor was leaking refridgerant and needs to be replaced. They did not want to deliver the car. I told them I still wanted to take delivery and they could order the parts and fix it when they get the parts. I took delivery and have put about 300 miles on the car in 2 days. I am in love with the car. I traded an 05 DG Coupe with the suspension package. The car handles almost as well ad rides worlds better.

I didn't think that leaking R134a (or whatever they use now) left any liquid deposit at all; doesn't it just evaporate? I know that R12 did, having had ample experience with that. A green puddle makes me think coolаnt instead. Not necessarily better than a leaking A/C compressor, but different.

Agree, puddles of green stuff would be antifreeze/coolant rather than A/C refrigerant.

If they had to work under the dash and possibly loosen/remove the heater core to get back in there to get to radio/audio system parts, that could explain why coolant was leaking out....one of the techs forgot to tighten the hose clamps in the rush to get it done and go home.

Sorry to hear about you troubles. Unfortunately it is a regular thing for new cars to have problems when they arrive at the dealership, that's why you pay for a PDI. This is the time when the dealer needs to find anything that went wrong between the factory and the dealership. I have heard of cars arriving in calgary with no oil (none), others covered in rock chips, all kinds of bad things can happen during delivery. At least they are finding the problems now, rather than you finding them later on. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

I think the auto up feature of my driver side window is broken. I can use auto up on all 3 other windows, but for the driver side it doesn't work. Is there a setting for that one window or should I call me dealer up tomorrow.

re. deadpixel

Thought mine was broke too but it's a two position switch. Pull up hard and it will click a 2nd time and then go into auto up

I had the Technician put it back up on the rack because I didn't think that itwould be refrigerant either but he showed me where it was dripping down over the compressor and insistant that it was flouresent dye in the R134A. I am still unsure if they are right or if there is a coolant leak. I watched for additional leakage this weekend but it has been raining here all weekend so its tough to tell.

Dude, I have your fix! Same thing happened to me yesterday, called the dealer, and here's the fix:

Roll the window down
Roll the window all the way up while holding the switch (hold the switch all the way up in what should be auto mode, not just first click)
KEEP holding the switch up for at least three seconds after the window is up

Voila - worked for me

That sucks man. I loved reading your post. You would have a happy face, then a sad smiley, then another happy smiley, then a sad one. LOL

You shouldn't have to put up with this crap even before delivery. Hope everything turns out okay!

Agree w/others here as well. If Infiniti/your dealer cannot provide you w/a quality car then I suggest you get a refund and look elsewhere - or at lest get another new '07G. There is no excuse for this given this price range, and there are several other offerings that you can go with.

Inoperable radio - welcome to Bose
