Pic of my new Black G
re. GoofyG28
Here's what I did...
1. Get the right kind of towels. Many towels will scratch (swirl) your paint.
Even some micro fiber towels will swirl your paint. I got 8x DF microfiber towels http://www.dftowel.com:80/ and 8x Magic Towels http://properautocare.com/miracletowel.html
The DF towels, especially the big ones leave a lot of lint, and started coming apart after I washed them. The Magic Towels didn't leave lint but didn't feel quiet as soft. I stayed away from trying to find 100% Cotton made in USA towels because I didn't want to mess with cutting off the edges and tags which are usually some kind of blend that will scratch the paint.
2. Once I had the towels, I washed the car twice with dawn. Probably
put a couple ounces in a couple gallons of water. Figured I would wash it twice because it was new and I wanted to get all the wax off.
3. Clar barred it. Bought I spray bottle from Home Depot. Filled with water and put a cap of Zaino Z7 wash solution in it. Used this to mist and lube for clay bar.
4. Washed with Zaino Z7 wash mixed with water in a bucket per instructions and dried. Trick here is to get the car dry. The Zaino Z5 and Z2 does not mix well with water.
5. Put on a coat of Z5 (Filled 2 oz. mixing bottle and added 10x drops of ZFX
hardener). Used dime sized drops applied to Zaino cloth applicator adding
more Zaino to applicator as required. Only add a dime size drop at a time. A
little goes a long way.
6. Waited about 45 minutes and wiped this off.
7. Went over enter car with Zaino Z6 gloss spray and wiped this off.
8. Put on a coat of Z2 (Filled 2 oz. mixing bottle and added 10x drops of ZFX hardener)
9. Waited about 45 minutes and wiped this off.
10. Went over enter car with Zaino Z6 gloss spray and wiped this off.
Note: I ended up having to pour out about 1/2 the Z2 and Z5 (won't keep once ZFX is added) and I put it on a little heavy. You really shouldn't need to mix more than about 1 oz. ea. of Z2 and Z5

When you spray on the Z6, do you literally just spray it on? Or do you have to rub it and make it spread out evenly?

The Z6 Gloss Enhancer is one of my favourite products from Zaino. I use it after I wax and after every wash.
My buddy came over with his new Harley Electra glide when I was using it. He tried it on his fairing and fell in love with it. My spare bottle went in his saddle bag before he left
.
That stuff is so good for that final touch.

Zaino's not wax.
Car wax is wax mixed with hydrocarbons (oil). The reason it looks "wet" is because it's oily. Once the oil evaporates (about 6 weeks) is gets dull looking. What wax that didn't evaporate with the oil loses it's ability to repel the elements (bead water) and washes away. The oily wax also attracts dust and grit. Once the wax is gone (in about 6 weeks) the unprotected paint starts to oxyidize turning dull, dry, and chalky.
Zaino on the other hand is not wax. It's a polymer (plastic). What you are doing with Zaino is basically coating your paint with shiny plastic.
