Does anyone know who makes the manual and automatic transmissions for the new 2007 G35 sedan, and what the model numbers are?

I hope this hasn't been posted before, but I did a search and couldn't find sticky or mention. I did find some comments on wikipedia that the transmission in the G35x is from Aisin-Werner... But in looking up Aisin-Werner on wikipedia I didn't see any transmission model numbers or links to Infiniti models.

Or does Infiniti make and fine tune their own transmissions like Honda and BMW?

 

BMW doesn't make their own transmissions.

Their 4 & 5-Speed automatics are made by GM (General Motors) and their 6-Speed automatics are made by ZF (Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen).

All versions of SMG are also made by ZF.

ZF owns Borg-Warner, which designed DSG.

Most Honda transmissions are made by Aisin-Warner.

 

I think JATCO made all the auto trannys on the G35.

 

Jatco was spun off of Nissan and is their preffered automatic transmission supplier. The 5 speed automatic in our G35s is at the bottom of the page here:

I believe the internal designation for the box is RXO.

Aisin-Warner (thats Warner with an "A") makes the transfer case for the X, not the transmission. The manual could be AW as well but I don't see it listed.
