X vs. S

what are the major differences, do the 0-60 times differ, handeling, im really pissed about infiniti underestimating the amount of S's needed, and not being able to get a test drive

0-60 probably won't differ much, a matter of weight.

As far as I can tell, the suspension tuning isn't much different. Can't get the larger wheels with AWD, though. And an AWD chassis never feels quite as lively as RWD.

Multi-adjustable seats in the S.

I still hoping in vain to drive a six-speed S myself.

Yep, I agree with that. Basic perfomance differences. mkaresh, did you finally get to that unveiling/party over there on the east side?.

On an unrelated matter I thought you were trying to cancel your G35driver.com membership

I did not like the seats in the S. Im a big guy and i could not fit in the seat like i could in the X. The X was way more comfortable. That was the biggest downfall for me and the S. That and the fact that it snows here. But i warn anyone thats over 250lbs to try the S seats first. You may not like the bolstering as much as you may think. Other then the paddles i didnt see anything else i would miss.

I test drove both back to back. The seats in the S felt tight, and I weigh only 165 lbs. Then again, I didn't explore the adjustable bolster feature that the S supposedly has.

Between the more aggressive tires and the stiffer suspension, the ride is more firm and the car's responses are quicker. Throttle response is also better in the S due to the simpler drivetrain. I felt that the S was overall a noticeably sportier ride. The X felt soft from my perspective.

Agree that the S seats take a some getting used to; I weigh 180, and at first thought the seat was a bit tight. But, had a four-hour drive to bring the car home, and over that time it was perfectly comfortable - and in hard corners, I don't move at all. If you're much bigger though, could def be a problem.

Good luck!

hated the sport seats

for about 2 minutes in the showroom.

Now that I have had the car for 1250 miles I love them. They seem to me to work with the suspension to make the S a different subjective experience than the X.
