Venturesheild Install- 2 pieces on the mirror

I had the dealer line up the venturesheild installation and it came back today and looks good except they used two pieces on the mirror! It's pretty blatant and I think it looks like hell. The dealer said they have to cut it that way because of the new shape of the '07 mirror.

Anyone else have this? Any thoughts?

Why would they need 2 pieces? The mirror is not that big. I have 3M and it's one piece but it doesn't cover the whole mirror. Only about 1/2 of it.

I have Venture Shield also and the mirrors are 2 piece. What model G do you have? The G35x bumper kit isn;t available yet, as far as I know. Let me know so I can find the kit.

I've got an '07 G35x. The dealer said that the design guy came out to design a template for the '07 and that he decided the only way to get the mirror right was 2 pieces. Apparently more because of it's rounded shape than it's size.
Not sure about kit availability. The dealer lined up their venture shield resource so I don't know who it was. By the sounds of it; one guy at this shop has the responsibility for cutting new templates for cars and that's how he decided this one needed to be done.

I'll try to get some tomorrow. Unfortunately I don't think you'll be able to discern much from pics. You need to see it on the car to tget a feel for it's noticability. In the right light it could look real bad and in other light you'd never know it's there; a camera will only add to that effect. I could shoot the same seam from different angles and it would look completely different.
I paid $695 through the dealer for the venturesheild (bumber, lights, mirrors, and about 14" on the hood) which wasn't a steal but didn't appear to be too out of line. They just farm the work out. There are a bunch of threads regarding both the ventureshield and the 3M. I can't speak too well on the quality of either since I've only had one and only for about 8 hours. I'll post in a month after I'm forced to pass a salt/gravel truck on the highway. That's murder on a Nissan paintjob.
