  • Journey with prem pkg(wood trim), navi and tech

total price 38,600

or
  • Sport with prem and navi

i tried to get a similiar priced vehicles.

only major difference is one car has sport and the other has tech. Any and all opinions wanted. thank you in advnace.

The wheels on the sport I feel are much nicer, are the wheels any part of your consideration. do you want the sportier ride and tighter seats, or more comfort?

Keep in mind the wood is not an option for the sport

And you can add the 18" wheels that are found on the sport, to your Journey configuration, I beleive it's $400 more.

Personally I briefly considered getting a Journey with more options, but I decided that the Sport wheels, suspension and handling made it an easy choice.

I faced that choice...

and ordered a Sport AT with Premium, Navigation and splashguards. It would've been nice to be able to get the wood on the Sport, but it wasn't a big deal. Like the other poster noted, the Sport wheels and suspension more than make up for it.

Did I say: Sport!

You can always add wood.

This car is so damn nice (and so well performing in any of the offered packages) that you can't go wrong. But to me the Sport package is a HUGE bargain for what it gives: total balance- very flat cornering, supple not harsh ride quality, limited slip+ decent size and quality rubber on very nice wheels, plus the adjustable good looking seats, paddle shifters, well done aluminum trim inside. It just feels soooooo together.

ps: it seemed like total fluf on the sticker but now that I have it, the rear cam is downright useful!
(when Sedanman07 works out where to put the dispays from ones in the side mirrors...

Not that it's right or wrong, but I would (and did) choose the Sport in this scenario. I like the wheels, like the paddle shifters, like the handling, and have little value for the Tech package.

Again, just my perspective.

I hated the sport wheels when I first saw the new G....now I think they're really SWEET. Look really good when the tires have a good coat of dressing on them. Go figure.

I initially wanted a sport, however, a few things changed my mind:

*Tire size, there simply are no other choices other then the factory tires in the front size.

*I test drove a Journey and felt its ride was on the harsh side for a daily driver, and wouldn't be happy with a stiffer car to drive daily.

With that said I would like a bit less body roll, but when the aftermarket catches up I will just install new sway bars and it should remedy the body roll problem with out impacting ride harshness. I don't think you can go wrong either way, the sport package adds a lot, but so does the tech. package. Approaching 1000 miles rapidly, I have no regrets not getting the sport.

That's an easy one: Drop the tech and go with the sport. If you are not sure, go drive a sport model and a non-sport one.

Your contemplation will be over as soon as you are done driving the two.

I had the chance to drive both the sport and a non-sport (AWD). There is a difference of night and day in handling, cornering, seats, wheels, etc. etc.

Go with the sport - you won't regret it.
