This is driving me INSANE!

With my new wheels my new G rides a little harder than it did before.

I can live with that.

But it now rides just hard enough that my Escort radar detector rattles
against the front windsheild as it vibrates up and down

I've the the little suction cup mount where the front edge of the detector rests on the front windshield.

Had anyone dealt with this before? I'm thinking about sticking a piece of felt
on the edge that touches the front windshield to make it stop rattling.

It's driving me crazy.

My escort used to vibrate against the windshield in my last car. I used self-adhesive foam weather-stripping to stop it. You need the denser variety, though, if you choose to go this route. Also, during the summer, the adhesive can slip a bit. It's not a perfect solution, but it worked for me.

I had the same EXACT problem on my coupe. Not so much due to the suspension, but more with the low angled windshield - guess what: I came up with a solution. I took a small square of 3M double sided tape, rolled it into a roll, and taped it on the top-front part of the Passport where it meets the windshield. Wualla! Rattles are gone!
