Do You Need Folders In Cf Card?

I've seeing in some of the posts that people are having their music stored in folders on their cf cards. Can I just drag and drop all of my music on the card without having folders? If so, then whats the best way of having it labeled? Artist - Song , or Song - Artist?

Never tried it with my cards but I don't see why not. The files will play in numerical & alphabetical order. With so many files on a card folders make it easier for finding what you want to hear at the moment.

It'll post to a "Root Folder" and the music is display by whatever the file name is.

^^^ Correct, single songs will be stored onto a folder called Root Folder. I have a combination of folders and just single MP3s. The Root Folder is shown no differently than other folders.

Can you set up basically any folder structure you want when you are copying them from your PC, and the stereo will read it from that?
