Zaino pics / Houston G spotting

Ha! Spent a few hours with Zaino and the G last weekend, and the results border on ridiculous. Unfortunately it was mostly cloudy so the platinum graphite looks dark, but the shinyness meter is off the scale - you can basically read the newspaper in the paint . I did the reflection of the Z6 bottle in one pic (hey, props to them), and this is actually only three coats (Z2 -> Z5 -> Z2) with Z6 in between. And while the process took about four hours total, and my arm hurt after , it wasn't that hard - my brand-new PC is gathering dust. Thanks to the advice from the folks who have done this before and recommended Zaino.

On another note, hadn't seen any Houston '07 Gs, and have now seen 3 in the past 24 hours. I guess word is spreading! Is anyone else seeing an increase?

The pics look great. I've seen several '07 Gs on the north side of town for the past month. I was just test driving another one about an hour ago.

Looks like your work paid off! How often do you plan on repeating the process?

Don't know, opinions seem to differ. Right now I'm just using Z6 after each wash, about once a week (EDIT>> Okay, let's be honest, right now I'm washing it whenever it becomes even MINUTELY dirty ), and will probably put on another coat of Z2 once every month or so. Then probably complete re-do every six months? Advice welcome

The G looks awesome! Nothing like the shine of a freshly Zaino'ed G35!! I use Z2/Z5/Z6 as well really enjoy the results that is provides.

That's what I did with my '04.
The Z6 really helps keep it in shape untill the next time (6months) you do the next Z2.

I've been a Zaino user for years and the new Z8 is amazing - try it out! I thought Z6 was good but Z8 really brings that freshly Zainoed look and feel back even better than Z6. I use Z6 between layers of Zaino and use Z8 as my final step or my quick detailer after a wash when I'm not going to put on a layer of Zaino.

try to mix 50/50 the Z2 and Z5 with ZFX. You get best of both worlds + the time saving. Been doing that for years now....

4 hours? Did you claybar it too? It took me all day to do mine (with breaks between the Z2/Z5 for drying it.

But then I washed mine 2 times with Dawn (wanted to make sure I got all the old wax off), clar barred it, then washed it again with zaino wash before even starting with the Z2 and Z5.

No - thought about it and bought the claybar, but the paint felt mirror-smooth, so per the Zaino recommendation didn't bother. I will in the future tho.

The ZFX is cool, drying time for the Z2 / Z5 was fast. So total was probably:

Dawn wash - 30 minutes
Z2 - ~1:15 (including drying time and Z6 wipe on/wipe off)
Z5 - ditto
Z2 - ditto

The total could have been closer to five hours, wasn't really paying attention (and stopped to drink a beer at different points).
