G35x wheels and navi
Hi all,
I'm thinking about jumping into G35x and I have two concerns. I've spend couple of weeks reading trough this forum as well other resources and have two open questions:
1. Is it possible to get 18" wheels on G35x? Infiniti.com says no, some other sources say possible. It's available for Journey, so it's obvious that's marketing BS that this option is not listed for G35x.
2. Navigation maps - since I'm living in Europe I'm interested if it's possible to download maps for where I'm living. I've found two sources; Zenrin and Xanavi, which one is actual map provider for 07 G35?
Happy New Year!

I know that Infiniti doesn't list the performance wheel and tire package for the X, but I don't see any reason why your dealer couldn't order it for you. I would check with your dealer just to make sure.
Zenrin is the company that supplies Infiniti with their DVD based navigation. Since the 07 G has a hard drive based Navi system and not DVD based, I am not sure if Zenrin is the supplier for the 07 G.

voytech, it is recommended not to run staggered wheels and tires on the G35X, it is because of the awd system. That is why they are not offered with the G35X. You can run 18 , 19, or 20" wheels as long as the tires are around the same outside diameter as the original tires and they are the same size front and back.
I will eventually be running 245/45R18 tires on the front and back of my X during summer use.

I was about to suggest the same. Keep the 17" for winter and get 18" for summer. You'd do better with aftermarket anyway. It's a cheaper route with more choices. Where in Europe are you? From what I've heard parts of Europe you can get a ticket for not running winter tires during the season. I thought Infiniti's are not available in Europe. Good luck!

GEE35X.........curious what spacer (if any) you were going to use on the 245/45R18 size up front? I was thinking that if the '07 sport rear wheel is used, that a 5mm spacer (due to 50mm offset) would be needed at least for the front. On your '05, did you have any rubbing issues with no spacers up front when using the 45mm offset 18" sport wheel? If not, I hope the '07 would be the same (with 5mm spacer). Thanks.......

On my 05 G35x I ran 235/45R18 all around on 18 x 7.5 rims with a 45mm offset.
I did not use spacers before, and I don't plan on it with the 07.
If you used the 07 8.5 sport wheel on the front, you will probably have to run spacers since the 8.5 rims are 50mm offset.

furthermore dollar exchange rate makes it even more compelling. I'm great fan of American auto market and already bought for wife Honda Odyssey. There is no law about running winter tires but it would be quite unreasonable to not use it.
Regarding rims, I really like design of those for sport model, any suggestions for aftermarket with similar look. Just to confirm - I need to look for 18 x 8.5?
You will definately have a very unique car then. The exchange rate will make it a killer deal. Not sure what aftermarket wheels look similar to the sport wheels, but you might want to try http://www.TireRack.com and http://www.DiscountTireDirect.com. They have a cool feature where you can see differently wheels on your car. Maybe you will find something that looks similar or like more. The only problem is that neither one of them have been update to show the new '07 model yet, but you can use the '06 since from the side the cars look somewhat similar.
