bluetooth question

Has anyone here had problems with their bluetooth not working properly? My connection was working fine until a couple of days ago. It shows me on the monitor that I'm calling someone but I don't get a dial tone and the speaker does not work instead I have to use my handset. I checked all the settings and everything looks like its setup properly. It happened to me one time before so I deleted my phone and reinstalled it, that solved the problem last time but not this time. Any advice would be very helpful. I don't want the dealer to touch my car just yet.

Some things to try/verify first:

Did you get a confirmation message that the phone is connected when you turn on your car with the phone inside?

Do you see the antenna icon near the upper right of the screen showing cell phone is linked?

Have you tried to manually hand off the call to the car from your cell phone to see if it does properly?

Were you actually trying initiate a call? If so, from the car's phonebook, or from the phone itself? I found that if I initiate from my phone, the car sometimes cuts off the dial tone and the system starts working when the other party picks up.

There a lots of things you can play around with to see if it works, but there are too many models of cell phones out there with different capabilities.

You may want to post your phone model and maybe someone else can be more helpful.

My phone wasn't able to connect once. Both the car and the phone wasn't able to find each other, so I just turned my phone off and on, and it worked again.

I do get the little antenna icon and the system does initiate the call but the speaker never turns on. Funny thing is that while I'm talking on my handheld I can still stop the call through the car's controls. I have not tried to turn the phone off and on yet, I'll do that in the morning. The phone that I'm using is a blackberry 7105 and I'm having the same problem with the new blackberry pearl. Thank you for the tips.

+1 In the two months I've had the car, the phone link has messed up probably three times. Each time required restarting the phone or the car to fix...
