Picking the right color.

I am having a terrible time making a deceision on what color exterior/interior combo is right for me...One day it's garnet ember and the next it's ivory pearl and today it was slate blue. Then it's wheat with wood, then grey with the washi aluminum...Anyone have any advice short of I can't go wrong, which I agree, I can't. The car is just bad!

How does each color do on dirt? Which shows it the fastest? Probably not IP.

Thanks for any advice...

If you want a color that shows dirt the best, I would go with IP. I have a white QX4 and I find it extremely easy to keep clean. My Garnet Ember (OMG, I actually almost wrote Garnet Canuck ) has been very easy to keep clean when compared to my 03 Black Obsidian. IMO, IP with some tint looks very sharp.......especially with the Graphite interior like Vasiliy has. Good luck choosing your color.

IMO black looks the best (when clean). If you want a color that is easy to maintain, I would probably opt for the IP or liquid platinum. Good luck with your selection

Silver is always best for hiding dirt but you should go with the color you like.

Can anyone with Lakeshore Blue comment on how it has been to keep clean?

For me, it was a tough choice between black or silver. IMO, black looks great when the car is clean & waxed. Otherwise, when it isn't as clean (which for me would be most of the time), silver looks better. Now that it's winter in upstate NY, and there's salt in the ground, I think silver is better. My wife's car is black. Looked pretty bad yesterday with all the salt on it. But, she just got it washed this afternoon, and now I'm thinking that black looks great! My previous car was white, which hid salt quite well (but not slush), but I wanted something new. I wound up with a silver (Liquid Platinum). I figured that the 95% of the time my car isn't clean, silve would look better. Now, if I lived in Hawaii like someone in another thread who recently posted pics of their very clean G35, black may have an edge....

I'd go to a well stocked lot and look, touch, sit in, and drive to see what grows on you the most.
Some cars wear certain colour well and just 'feel' right, but you'll have to go to see what feels good for you.
For me, the G's and M's wear silvers, and reds very well, with white and black coming a close second.
It's all a matter of taste and what's right for you, and how it 'feels'.

As has been mentioned many times, the darker the colour, the more the maintenance.....so be prepared for that, but the darker colours are so fine and really are sweet (if you have the time. )

Interior for me is more a matter of practicality than anything else.: If you've got little ones or pets, then the darker interior will be more resiliant (or at least appear to be)... If it's just you and the wife, the lighter interiors are very attractive....
To my mind, it really doesn't make a lot of difference what colour interior you choose....They're all very resiliant and can be maintained fairly easily.
I lean toward dark interiors for my lifestyle, but the lighter ones are very classy too.

G/L with your choice-- it's a daunting chore, but go with what you like, what feels good to the touch and what drives nice......

Be reassured tho that making a wrong colour choice with these rides is impossible

Colin.

I'm still a few months from being able to purchase, but I am leaning towards IP with graphite interior. I think IP with tint and some darker wheels looks awesome.

It also may depend on what color car you have been driving. My last few cars have been gray/silver and black, so I'm ready for something new.

griffey222 - one thing I liked doing while shopping for a car was to go to the dealer's lot while they were closed. That way, you can take your time examining the cars closely and what color you may want. Granted, you can't test drive the cars when the dealer is closed, but I found it useful to be able to examine the cars without the dealer breathing down your neck.

If you keep it clean, you shouldn't have to worry about show dirt!

All external colors look great. For interior, the graphite is a must for me! I can't do light interiors.

Another thing to consider is where you live. If you're in the south, lighter color exterior and interior will make the car cooler. If you're in the north, darker color will make the car warmer in the winter. My current car, I got white exterior and black interior (I guess that's the middle ground).

White or Ivory Pearl is the most visible color, meaning people can see you better. The only exception is during white out conditions, in which case orange is the most visible color.

I agree the IP and LP will hide dirt the best, but I'm biased towards the LP.
