2007 VQHR Dyno Results!
Here you go guys!
The 2007 VQ HR dyno results!!!:D Comparative dynos of the NON-REVUP AT and the REVUP MT have been included to illustrate the relative differences of the three engines. As you can see in the plots below the 2007 HR engine completely stomps the prior generations in both peak power and in area under the curve by a very large margin. I've seen both the prior engines with all the boltons can do similar numbers to eachother but the HR engine greatly exceeds what any amount of boltons can do to the other engines. $10,000 in boltons on a REVUP engine couldn't do what a stock HR does. Congratulations to Nissan for really stepping up to the plate and doing a great job on this latest engine. Let the modding begin!:D 2004 AT Vs 2007 AT http://www.motordyneengineering.com/..._NON_REVUP.gif http://www.motordyneengineering.com/..._NON_REVUP.gif 2005 MT Vs 2007 AT http://www.motordyneengineering.com/...R_Vs_REVUP.gif http://www.motordyneengineering.com/...R_Vs_REVUP.gif . . And here is the HR 6MT dynod on the same machine. . http://www.motordyneengineering.com/...MT_HR_dyno.gif |
Impressive, thanks Tony for setting this up and thanks to Robinchen for using his car for our first dyno.

How does the Dynapack dyno compare to a standard dynojet?
|
Also, why does it say "flywheel horsepower and torque?"
|
The 04 doesnt have a rev up and they are only a few HP off from each other, i dont understand why you say 10,000 dollars in bolt ons couldnt run with a 07 G. My 03 g with air intake/ exhaust already runs 13.8 i think the 07 runs that as well...i only spent a 2 grand???
Maybe im confused -sean |
at least the revup got much closer to it the the non revup motor.
Can't wait to see the 08 3.7 coupe on a dyno |
Thank you for the dyno results, very impressive.

Maybe im confused -sean I've seen countless VQ's at many, many dyno days with every variation of boltons. All on the same dyno. They never came close to the numbers made by this stock HR. |

Is that 285 wheel horse power? Either that would leave the new VQ with only a 7% drivetrain loss, or Inifiniti is sandbagging the numbers.
In any case, I'll gladly take that extra 25 hp :) |
Wow! These are some impressive results! Makes me wonder how much more we can extra with normal mods without going forced induction.
|
Don't focus on the absolute numbers, and don't even try to figure out a "drivetrain loss." Every dyno is different. Just use it to compare cars on the same given dyno.
So is all this data from your dyno, or does it also include data from the one at Church Dynapack. Good info as always! |
Let me see if I have this correct. The difference between a DynoJet and DynaPack is that a DynaPack ties to your hubs, while a DynoJet uses rollers, also a DynaPack actually puts a load to your vehicle. Is this correct?
From what I understand, RWD cars lose 25-30HP on a DynaPack. FWD cars lose 20-25 HP, and AWD cars lose 35-40 HP. DynaPack VQ35DE - 241.5 lb.ft/258.1 HP VQ35DE Rev-Up - 249.5 lb.ft/269.8 HP VQ35HR - 255.3 lb.ft/284.8 HP VS. Published VQ35DE - 260 lb.ft/260 HP VQ35DE Rev-Up - 260 lb.ft/298 HP VQ35HR - 268 lb.ft/306 HP 284.4 HP to the wheels means only a 6% drivetrain loss. Usually drivetrain loss on a DynoJet is around 14-16% on a RWD car. Most DynoJet number's I have seen on the first G35 engine range from 223-232 RWHP. But, I understand that rough percentage adjustments to estimate flywheel HP are used for DynoJet's where-as a rough fixed adjustment are used for DynaPacks. But the 284.4 HP correlates fairly close to the notion that DynaPacks lose 25-30HP to the wheels. I have also heard that there is a 6% difference in DynoJet vs. DynaPack numbers. So on a DynoJet the HR engine would be making about 269 HP at the wheels. Just curious, what was the AutoPlot Ramp Time and TGF value set at? |

Hydrazine how many miles did the 07 have on it?
