lol im 19 and i think my tints are already pushing it. but whats done is done. ya i auctually think its better locked up while the car is in motion. if not for the cars sake, but at least for the people around. 18 and a bday present.. wow. i bought it on my own. I think thats when you really understand how to take your car.

Cool

wow you guys got pretty nuts on his ***...

OP: tinting the windshield is probably a bad bad idea, and 5% tint...while it does look good, my mate's got it and..it's just not practical.

OP: To the best of my knowledge, it hasnt gotten out (at least on these forums) how to hack the dvd screen so it displays videos while moving, i think the other forum members are giivng you a wild goose chase to go on, though if i'm mistaken I will gladly take back my statement.

Other posters:
Yeah, sure 18's a bit young to be driving such a tight car, but hey more power to him...If I got the flow, and my kid's worth it, then ima hook him up sooo dirty..gallardo type sht you know? Haha.

Either way, I'm pretty sure that his age and the method through which he happened to procure his car are not fair game for criticism on this board. This thread is not very civilized. I'm pretty sure he worded his request incorrectly: I for one also want videos to be playing on my screens when im driving, not to WATCH them, but to have music videos or tight itunes visual effects while music is playing, cuz it'd look cool as all hell forthe passengers.

Though if he DID mean he wanted to jus catch his favorite sitcom while driving home then...he's on his own, haha.

Agreed. Why even post your age anyways?

Yes, the tint and video are not safe. Nevertheless, the questions could have been phrased more carefully, and it doesn't help mentioning that the G is a gift. Anyway, the following article was pretty interesting:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2005Jan31.html

I guess it provides additional credence to insurance companies charging more for drivers younger than 25.

Wow, this thread is quite civilized based on some of those in the past. LOL

1. I can't imagine a parent buying an 18 year old a car like this but I'm hoping they have a good reason.

2. If he wants to watch videos while driving and tinting the car to the point of barely being able to drive - I'm just glad he is no where near where we live!

Good luck to the rest of you on the west coast. hehehehe

Very interesting stuff and thanks for the link. It shows at the very least a reason for much more research into the area. For all of our knowledge and advancement, we still know so very little about the function of the brain.

Just found this thread. I read the post and knew right away that it was going to be a flame war. If only people could just answer the question and forget the fact that he's 18 with a car ant it took me 40 years to afford.

Man, I would have LOVED to have a car like that in high school! What a chick magnet that would have been. (I had a lowly fire engine red MGB with wire wheels )

To the topic at hand. Yes it's cool to be able to watch vids while moving. However, I would suggest that you get about 5 years driving behind your seat belts first. There are enough distractions already, friends, phone, flashy billboards, etc to keep your your attention away from where it should be.

Enjoy your car and learn the tricks of the road first. You will save yourself a lot of trouble later, you might save a life, it could be yours.

Tex

I couldn't care less if this guy is 18 or 38. I don't care how he got his G and if he is spoiled to death by his parents. Those thing don't mean a lick to me and I wouldn't flame anyone for having a G at the age of 18.......frankly it is none of my business. What I do get bothered about is someone that wants to have music videos playing on a 7" screen that is virtually right in front of him. Like Tex stated, there are a gazillion distractions already when driving let alone having a music video play almost right in front of your face. If the younger members here want to flame me for practising safe driving habits, go right ahead.

I'm perfectly calm, thanks for the concern though.
