5AT has a SPEED LIMITER?

ok so i forgot to post this up but when i went to dyno my car last week we noticed something... the car cuts off the fuel at 140... anybody else know anything about that??.

i taken my G all the way up to 162 before, so i dont think the car limits it to 140

Fassster: do you have a sport or normal?
I have a 5AT Sport and im pretty sure i've taken it up to 140 before but people gave me **** in this forum for saying so n i was called a liar blablabla because apparently it's limited to 133..or not?

I think when you drive it in manumatic, the only thing that limits you is drag. But when you drive it in normal drive mode you may have a built in limiter. Furthermore with drag, you are also driving with your tach. so you should be able to get past the so called limiter.

Do you have sport or journey (base). They have different speed rated tires, so that might have something to do with it. That is why they usually have different cut-offs, they don't want to out run the speed ratings of the tires for obvious reasons.
The Sport has W rated tires.
The journey or base has V rated tires.

rocaveli, I think the people might have given you a hard time because the majority of people on this site do not condone excessive high speeds or racing on the streets. That's what the track is for. I believe robinchen was talking about hitting the cut-off while at the dyno.

yes i have a sport 5spd and at the dyno it cuts off at 140ish. exactly at the same spot no matter what gear we were dyno ing.. we were driving in manualmatticcc...
ps this was not a dynojet but a dynopack.. so maybe something to do with that?

I went 140mph but backed off...I'm sure it would keep going...5AT Journey
