The aluminum looks really modern a sleek looking on the graphite interior..

Differences in shade/color of aluminum?

I've noticed in pictures and in person that the aluminum seems to vary in color. In some cars it is yellow-ish in appearance; in others it is more of a true aluminum color. I don't like the yellow. I suspect Infiniti uses different vendors or maybe it's different manufacturing lots. Anyone else noticed this?

Noted above picture - that looks aluminum color, the car I test drove was more yellow-ish, but one I saw in the showroom previously was like the picture above.

I went into the dealer thinking I wanted the wood interior. There was only one black obsidian w/the aluminum interior. Now, I can't imagine having the wood trim.

I have wheat/aluminum. I dont think I am old enough for the wood...

That could be another thread, how old are most G35 Sedan owners? married? kids? Dont threadjack this one... it was just a thought.

I would imagine I am a "young fart" as this thread goes.

Actually wood looks best (imo)on the Wheat, but also looks great on the Graphite. Not only does it look nice, it gives the interior a rich, warm feeling that you don't get with the Washi Aluminum. The texture of the wood was incredible. When I saw it I was not as sure as I was once I felt it.

So with Wheat or Graphite, get your wood on!

Young fart here (Thanks for the clarification, Wayne ). I think I'll end up picking graphite/aluminum combo if I go with the G.

I think wood goes better with old fart cars... like the Lex. LS or the Inf M. No pun intended to those who drive those.

I looked at graphite interiors with both aluminum interior and wood interior. I wound up liking the wood interior much more. It's a nice dark finish, and it's not "shiny" like other cars with wood interiors; i.e. it looks like real wood, unlike other cars that have real wood interior but the wood is shiny (after all, who wants shiny wood in their furniture at home). Seems that wood is more luxurious, IMO. I thought that the "washi" finish wasn't refined enough. If, instead of the washi aluminum finish, it was just plain black or a very dark shade of gray, I wouldn't have gotten wood. I just didn't like the washi aluminum color. But, everyone has their own opinion, so it's good Infiniti makes different options! To each their own.

I don't like the wood. It's a sports sedan.

I've got a black obsidian Sport AT with the graphite interior. With that color combo, the aluminum trim looks great. Like one of the previous posters commented, the wood would look odd in this case.

So I'd definitely go with #2.
