Music box and CF question

Let's say you're listening to something playing in either MB or CF and you switch to map view. Now let's say you want to return to the MB or CF menu to change to a different album or artist. How can you easily do that? If you hit the source button, it goes to either A, B, or C, which changes the currently playing song to whatever is on your preset, and then you have to manually hit the source button again until you return to the MB or CF interface. If you hit AM, FM, Sat button, you again, go to one of those sources.

Is there a way to go right back to MB or CF with a button, or is voice command the only way to go?

Make sense?

I think you should be able to return by just pressing the cd/aux button on the dash - seems to work for me. Let me if there's another way.

Yep, that is exactly what I do. Hit the Disc/Aux button and you'll be back to the MB or CF menu.

I also heard someone complaining that they can't scroll through songs on the HD or a CF card and then select the one they want - ie. when you scroll it selects and starts each song as you do. Is this true? If so, this is a major screwup.

Yeah - it works as if it was a CD. It just jumps to the next track,.
I wouldn't mind it if the SELECT button on the wheel does that, and then the center control wheel allows scrolling...

That would make sense. The SELECT button is there - why not use it?????

There are starting to be enough PITA annoyances with the operation of the HD/CF/NAV that I may not order that package ie. can't operate anything while moving, CF file folder order and filename display, can't copy to the hard disk from anything but a CD, this scrolling issue. It could have been so much cooler.

Even given all the "little" things - it IS a really great system.
I think we're just nit-picking here.
I've already uploaded about 6 disks to the HD, and have about 300M of MP3s on my 1G CF card - oh and few in the CD changer... oh yeah and one in the in-dash changer... so many options! It really SUX! LOL.

I completely agree. The whole MB and CF functionality, while not perfect, is pretty DAMN good!! No other car in it's class offers anything close to the functionality of the MB and CF capabilities. Some people really just love to nit pick here.

Yeah, some minor annoyances, but overall, I'm very happy with the system.
