This just happened to my GF a couple of days ago, she claims she turned the car off then on again and it worked fine. She has a Moto Krzr, btw.

Huh? There are no more extra steps. You're getting rid of one step. Once you say the name you want to dial, you'll have to follow it up like you would normally.
