Navigation problems???
Does anyones navigation go hay-wire? When i program my destination while in a multilevel parking structure to route my trip, my gps gets screwed up. So when i drive out onto the street, all the bearings are messed up and my GPS gives false directions. So my actual location DOES NOT correspond to my position on my GPS. This has happened several times. I'm wondering if its just me or when I drive in circles in the parking structure trying to exit, the GPS gets dizzy...

It should relocate you when you exit... right?

Once you get out of the garage and onto a road, it should figure things out although it probably won't be able to tell you what turn to take leaving the garage exit.
It's based off of inertial stuff plus wheel counts, if it's anything like what Mercedes uses. Catch is it works in 2.5D - that is, topography is sort-of considered, but mostly just thinks of X-Y. In a parking structure, you're moving in the Z-axis as well, which changes the frame of reference - you shift the frame by altering the loop you make in the garage. It takes a few moments to get a GPS fix off of enough satellites to really drill down, explaining how off you are when you finally emerge on street level.
Unless you want to go back to using LORAN for your street navigation in waterfront cities, it's just something to live with ; )

Thanks wavelengths and all those who replied, its kind of a pain but i recommend to everyone to set your destination point once you have left the parking garage instead of inside the structure. Problem solved.
