Quick question here: Does CD text work with the disks in the CD changer? I know the in dash player can read text......... Just wondering?

Guys,

Unless I am doing something wrong, only the CD Player (in the Head Unit) will retrieve CD text - i.e. Album Name and Track Titles.

When playing a CD that is in the changer, only one track at a time is displayed on the screen (while the track is playing), and are labelled Track 1, Track 2, etc.

Am I missing something?

No. Mine works exactly the same as yours.

Cuuld be that the CD is not in the gracenote database.

Try to load a CD in the dash player that you know works, then try it in the trunk and see what happens.

The CD changer in the trunk uses CD Text, meaning it will display track info only if encoded on CD, it does not look at GraceNote DB.

In-dash CD uses GraceNote DB.

And yes, it does look a little weird when playing a CD Text CD in the changer, it only displays the text for the track you're playing, but it puts it in the normal list format where you'd expect to see all the track names.
