Strange Question

Kind of an odd question here. The last few days, I've noticed that the small amber light by the "P" when you are in Park stays on continuously.....even when the car is shut off. The only reason I find this strange is because I don't recall this light staying on at all times in the past. Can someone confirm that theirs stays on even when the car is shut off and the doors closed?

Have you tried looking at it when you don't have the key in your pocket?

I know that mine does. It surprised me too, but ChristianN has a good point. Haven't tested that yet.

I haven't tried it without the intelligent key in my pocket, but let me go check.

I know the Gs at the dealerships don't have this light on. So it's probably detecting the intelligent key.

I just went out and checked (without the intelligent key in my pocket) and the light is now off. So either it goes off after a period of time like Terry suggested or goes off when the intelligent key is out of range.

Anyways, it was nothing major but was driving me crazy why it was staying on.

Ok so I went out to the car without the key. The light was off. I then open the car door the light came on with the interior lights. I shut the door and waited and the interior lights and the yellow light went off the sametime. I then went and got my key and went back to the car to see if for some reason the light would come on sensing the key and it didn't.

So my conclusion is the light is just tied into the interior lights and when driving.

The other strange thing I notice is the yellow light follows the shifter. When I mover it from Park to Drive the light moves to Drive. As if it had a mind of its own.
