CD Changer - Is this normal?

I have the trunk CD changer and have a question to confirm I'm working normally, because I don't feel like this is they way it should work.

Here's a few pics of what I see on the CD changer and the last one is of the in-dash CD player.

Notice how there is no text on any of the CD's coming from the changer, and also notice how it can't even tell me how many tracks are on any of the CD's. Does this changer not even support what the most basic of cd players/changers do. No text, no track numbers, nothing? I would expect at minimum to have a list of tracks populated on the screen and not just 1 track at the top which changes. but I'm still surprised there's no CD text support.

The CD Changer display screen sucks. However, click on the status button when you are using the cd changer and you will then see track no, cd-text, etc. The status screen gives a lot more information.

I don't see this, I've tried a few CD's all from the past 3 years and nothing. Can you snap a picture of the CD text from the changer? if you look at my pictures, there's a TEXT button at bottom left, but it's never active, does your go active?

Same here... my TEXT button is never active. Never seen any text besides CD tracks. I've got non-Nav with SOW.

Sure. I will try to add a picture. Main thing is that there are not too many CDs with CD-text. However, if the text comes when you use the in-dash player then it should come from the changer. I dont think the text button is active. But you can click on the STATUS button to go to the status screen. There you will see the text from the CD.

I haven't used my CD changer in trunk yet, so I didn't realize this was a problem. However, I haven't felt any need to load it as the Music Box from the indash CD, XM sat, compact flash, and video iPod through Aux are way more than enough.

I get the same thing. I have nav and XM, but anytime I use the CD changer (which is rare), it only displays one track. All the rows below it are blank.

I have the new Oasis double CD in 2 of the rear changer slots. Although only one track is listed at a time the song title comes up.

Has anyone found a solution yet? I swear that the first time I loaded up the changer and put it in, that all of the tracks had info. I am going to swap the CDs and see if anything changes.

If I remember correctly, this has to do with the interface between the HU and the changer. It's pretty standard and has limited data capability - it's designed to feed back the basic stuff your average car head unit needs at the present time (a single-DIN HU doesn't usually need all the track info at once). I could be wrong, but it would make perfect sense.

Same issue here, wish it was different!

I used the in-dash CD player until I bought a 2 GB CF card/reader. I have never even touched the changer.
