My Test Drive

Test drove the sport and everything was great except the seat. I'm 6'3" and 265 lbs. My legs are not particularly large, but the seats, ouch! I really want the car, but the bolsters were digging into my thighs, enough that I can't buy the car. Are the non-sport seats that much different? I didn't have a chance to sit in another, non-sport car. I did ask the salesman if there was any possibility of switching seats out and he said no. I want the sport, but can't handle the seats. The bolsters were set wide open. Can they be "adjusted"? What to do?

lose weight. that's your best bet. i LOVE the sport seats. i'm 6' 2" but you have some LB.s on me.

anywho... i'm sure an upholsterer could modify them for you. or you could buy an aftermarket seat

I had the same problem with the Sport and no where near 6'3" or 265. The seats are very firm and fit my butt perfectly IF I take my wallet out of my back pocket. With the wallet, there's no give in the seats and its like sitting on a rock. The Journey seats are probably a little wider and definitely softer. I had no issues sitting in the Journey with my wallet.

You can always pad up the seating area with a cushion, sheepskin seat covers or a combination of both.

I agree it's a tough choice, but the OP really likes the rest of the car.

The thigh bolsters are adjustable. I don't acutally own a G sport so I don't know how adjustable there actually are. I'm 6'1", 188 lbs, and I had absolutely no issue with the thigh bolsters. In fact, I thought the seats were very comfortable.

The sport seat is a tight fit.. even for my narrow butt.
Those sides don't give much either.. so you better be sure you like them. I drove 4.5 hours straight with no issues... I just have to straighten my legs every now and then to drop into place..
The rest of the sport package made it necessary to get the sport..

How can they not be able to swap seats?

The mounting holes for the regular and sport seats should be in the exact same location. If anything, you may have to worry about the wire brackets not having the same connections but that should be the hardest part. Oh, and don't worry about selling the sport seats...you'll have people lined up to pay top dollar for them.

Seriously, I'm not petite... but LOVE the sport seats.
Lumbar side bolsters are pulled in a bit and the seat is set to max wide.
Perfect fit.
Are they really more narrow than the journey at full wide?
We need some people to measure.

I thought the same thing when I test drove but I bout anyway. Then I adjusted the thigh bolsters and now I am very comfortable and I am 6'0 270. You can adjust the seats to fit about anyone.

Well, I'm going to go back and see about adjusting the seats again, but I may be asking who with a non-sport, black interior wants to trade seats.

I don't think you will have problems finding any takers .

If you buy a car whose seats are uncomfortable...no matter what the car offers, you will regret it.
