Wheel Weights?

I got my tires rotated on Saturday and they charged for for wheel weights? Anyone know what these are? I have never heard of them, they were very cheap though.

Its the weight they put on the inside of your rim to balance the tires..they shouldnt have charged you for them if you payed for a balancing though.

Thanks. I guess it is no big deal.

I paid 45.00 for a rotation and balance and 1.50 per wheel weight.

A pretty common thing - and very easily googled.

Usually the weights go on the outside and inside circumference of the wheel (on the lip) but with out cast wheels, they go on the inside surface of the wheels and are stick on type since there is no lip for them to grip onto.

If you look closely thru the spokes you should be able to see them.

They probably charged for them since they're not conventional weights, but I agree that they are usually included in the balancing charge.

next, someone is going to ask about changing the blinker fluid.

I just had that done with my 7,500 mile maintenance!

Speaking of wheels and weights, does anyone know how much the stock wheels weigh?

My muffler has really been squeaking lately to. The dealer recommended using graphite to lube the muffle bearings, due to the heat.
