Exclamation Found source of pillar /dash rattle --

On some uneven freeway surface and heard the rattle many have mentioned.
It's the REARVIEW MIRROR.
More specifically, the square tube against the glass that carries the wiring.
When you hear it grab the mirror and put knuckle on that small black tube above it = RATTLE GONE!!

This just shows how quiet the car is... my wife and I were looking everywhere for it - the famous "it's on your side - no, it's on your side" conversation ensued. Then grabbed the mirror and the 'conduit' and silence.

Ahhhh.

Haven't looked at it for a fix, but if anyone figures a simple one out - post it here. THNX!

Good stuff. Glad to hear it something minor as oppose to taking apart half of the car....

I think this was a problem on the Coupe a few years back, the 'homelink' mirror in my 04 rattled like crazy! Maybe check in their forums and see if they have any homebrew fixes?!?!

My 04 had a rattle in the exact same place. It was where the wiring for the mirror went into the plastic 'sleeve' heading to the headliner right at the glass.
Ended up removing plastic and then taking some felt to cushion the contact area. Rattle was gone.
Easy fix to an annoying rattle.
Hope your goes away for good.

Thanks for the tip - I think I'll go the felt route!

That rattle is VERY intermittent and the sound translates to the dash and the pillars. I was even grabbing the glove box...

i checked it out on mine and my rattle definitely doesnot come from that wire cover.

I'm definitely getting rattling somewhere in the dash under the vents.
It almost sounds like a baby rattle.
