Couple of 'display' questions
Couple of 'display' questions
So yesterday I was out for a drive, and two 'display' things happened that got my attention/curiosity.
First, just because it's interesting, was the fuel range dte (distance to empty) display. I got the standard 'low fuel' warning and after quite a few more km's, I hit the INFO button on the main (big) display, then selected the fuel option. It showed 9 km's dte! That's the first I've ever seen a dte display go that low. Usually below a certain threshold it just goes to blank/dashes "-----". While I've noticed before that the main screen will go to dashes before the centre (red) display will, I've never seen any dte display go down below 20kms (my last Maxima was the same). No doubt because they don't want the liability if the calculation is wrong and you get stuck. Interesting...
Second, and totally new to me, as I was getting close to home, the centre red display came on and said: "time to rest". What the heck is that??
I'm guessing there must be some function that has a timer or km counter that you can set to give you a warning that you've been driving too long?
Well, I guess it would be easy to keep driving this thing forever and lose track of time/distance - especially in the early days of ownership
But a time to rest feature? Sheesh, I feel like a long distance trucker.

Hey Shane, you know how it is when you get out and drive that thing. Nope - I wasn't tired - but I bet IT was! Maybe it was the car talking to me...it had been a long drive (now that puts a whole new spin on the intuitiveness of the G!)
And heck, I'm trying to get to 2,000km's as quick as I can! Thanks Treacherous. I knew I should have searched the manual more diligently. Of course with you on the forum it's like having a G encyclopedia at hand.

On the mileage, the DTE will go down to '****' , at which point I can drive about another 100 km.
On my M it's very optimistic on mileage. I wouldn't automatically count on that optimism on your G tho...
, but I think Nissan builds in quite a leeway.
The "Time to Rest" feature is a new one on me. I don't have that on my M.
