Since I believe everything behind the grill is identical from Sport to Journey, engine, radiator, airflow to engine, etc. and since the opening on the Sport is twice as big as the journey's intake. I'm sure it will not affect the airflow negatively. Are the outer opening on the sport brake disk cooling vents? or just fashionable? If they cool the brakes, blocking those will affect the car more than the center intakes I'd imaging... but I'm not 100% sure on that...

haha thanks... I was thinking of doing this also... I'll have to see what it would look like on my X.

Let me know when you set yours up... I don't have the Sport bumber so the plastic pieces are a little bigger, but I've been meaning to look into this too.

I was actually thinking of doing something with those plastic covers, but I'm not sure what just yet. I'd imagine that setting up some fogs would be cool... only thing is gonna be a) dropping that damn bumper is such a pain in the *** and b) doing the wiring so they come on only with the stock fogs.

Good luck being the first...
