the mesh one is "alright" at best
but the billet is just as ugly as usual - i hateeeeeeeeeeee billet grilles!!!!!

but the stock is definitely the best so far - aftermarket companies got their work cut out cuz i dont know what could top "THE LOOK" of the stock - quality - another story all together

I would go with the billet grille in the upper portion, but leave the bottom stock..

(If I had to choose one)

I just hope it never comes to the point where I will need to choose one. I'm honestly not sure which one I find uglier.

Thank goodness my grill still looks good, not like some of the others are talking.
But, I only have 5,500 kms on mine and when following someone I always stay a good distance from them.

Thumbs down

Thankfully I'm at 3,000 km's and only one significant ding in the grill - which is two less stone chips than the front paint No doubt more to come but I'd rather replace it with the same than with anything I've seen to date.

Amazing how I liked the look of similar mesh or billet replacement grills when I had my '04 Maxima (with the OEM big tooth), yet how cheap, mundane, and completely hideous they would seem to appear on the G.

Hmmm...perhaps I should express how I really feel and not candy coat it like that.

I knew about the grill issue, but haven't followed closely.....
Has anyone installed 3M on the OEM grill????

Good idea Ian, I think that would be a worthwhile investment, if the grills are as bad as they say.

For those of you with baddly chipped grills/front ends what are your driving habits? Not that im placing the blame, I'm just trying to figure out how to prevent this. I've had my 07 G for about 2000 miles now one significant chip, I definately try and not follow construction trucks, concrete mixers and dump trucks etc as they spray pebbles and sand all over nothing I hate more than the sound of rocks bouncing off my car. Also if at all possible I wont follow cars closely at all. any input would be appreciated.

Agreed those grills are ugly, makes a otherwise classy car look well cheesy. .. just like when people put ugly wheels on their G.

I am probably guilty of following too closely, but I am not going to sit back and drive like I am dead b/c Nissan decided to give me shotty paint and a POS cheap grill. Nor am I going to drive a specified speed on the highway to give myself a 100yd cushion and not pass trucks or other vehicles that may toss up rocks. When it comes down to it, its a car, made of metal and plastic just like all the rest, its above average in price and should therefore be above average in quality. These specific items on the car are obviously not up to par, I dont think anyone should have to make any concessions to facilitate Nissan's use of below grade parts/paint. As always, thats just how I see it. If some of you think its worth it to treat the car like a fragile egg, more power to ya...
