unbelievable incident happen on the fwy

still shaken while typing this so please forgive me.
me my gf was just driving along the 10 fwy ,between new n del mar ave.
talking as usual in the car, wasnt even going fast. all of sudden this 3x3 ft i assume metal sheet coming flying toward my car. i try dodging it a lil but it was too late plus i didnt want to hit another car. took the hit and thank god it wasnt heading straight toward the windshield. god knows what happen if it did, i cant even imagine if it went through the windshield. i gues you can were both bless. just glad im still typing here n tellin my incident to my fellow g35 member.

after a split sec i knew which big rig the metal sheet came off from, i imeditetly high beam this driver, honk, flashing him but he keep going. i try 3 times gettin infront of him gettin him to pull over , nothing! he kept going, i wave at his a$$, finally he pulled behind me as if hes gonna follow, i then proceded to take the next exit. i exit slowly about 30mphs n guess what this ***** did, he went back into the fwy. if you guys dont know, on the I 10 theres 2 exits in one, therefore it lets you get back into the fwy. which exactly what he did, i had a gut feeling he was gonna do this so thank god for my smart thinking we had already jock down his license plate n company name.
i thikn the driver didnt know what was going on, since the metal sheet flew off from his truck and i doubt he was aware of that.

i immeditely called the cop and file a police report. cop was cool about it and told me not to worry since i got his info down.
tomorrow i will be contacting my insurance company and see what they can do for me.
sorry long post, now here goes the aftermath. took quite a few pictures so bare with me.

the hood, fender, bumper, side frame is pretty much scrape up. hood is the worst and the windshield might need to be replace. seems like theres a nicks here and there. luckly it didnt shattered
i know car can be replace so im not too worry about it, lucky nothing happen to us.

Wow. That really sucks man. I had a similar incident happen to me a few years back, thankfully not in my G.

I was driving to dinner with my girlfriend on a Saturday evening. We were driving along a normal road with light traffic. All the sudden, a tire from an SUV's boat trailer came loose, began to bounce, and hit the front of my car. I ended up running over it.

Needless to say, nobody was hurt. The asshat didn't even notice that his trailer was dragging along kicking up sparks until I forced him off the road.

The cops came and his insurance payed for everything.

There's nothing like seeing a bouncing tire (with the rim still on) coming at your face while going 50mph...

Glad you guys are ok.

OUCH!!!

WTF is wrong with people nowadays! That piece of metal could've seriously hurt or even killed someone. The damage to your car is the least of your worries.

The important thing is that you guys are ok. Would've spooked the crap outta me too if that happened to me while I was driving. That damage can be fixed and I'm sure that the company that the guy works for will have to pay for every penny of your brand new bodywork and paint job. Don't let up with the insurance company until they do! Good luck!

I'm glad to see you weren't hurt. I can imagine how scary that was. Hopefully you will have your car repaired to as good as new and some action will be taken against the truck driver/company.

wow your lucky, it looks like it could have been alot worse, ive been two cars behind a 18whler when a steel bar came of the back went under the mini van in front of me, punches a hole in the mini vans gas tank then takes a serious high bounce, i had to swerve hard. i run a family boat repair shop and you would be amazed how many boats we get that come off their trailers! could you imagine that! And i only see the ones that might be able to be fixed. We really put alot of faith in others on the road!! Glad your both ok...good luck finding a good body shop.

Wow, glad you're okay; sounds like you dealt with it well too. That damage will be easily fixed and the G will be back to new, don't worry.

I had a similar incident in my Max a couple of years ago. An SUV about 50 yards ahead ran over a 2x4 in the road and it kicked up towards me. Managed to swerve around most of it, but it clipped and smashed the front headlight. Weird when something so random happens.

Oh man! Glad you two are ok, it's painful enough lookin at your G. Let us know how it turns out. Glad you got the trucks info.

The other day here in MD, on the Bay Bridge, a small flatbed trailer being pulled by an SUV came unhooked and cars started swerving to avoid. 7 cars wrecked and 3 people died. No one went off the bridge though.

Thank god it was just ur car which can be fixed! =)
