I liked my LS '05, but this Black Obsidian really stands out, it's the nicest color car I've owned. (oh wait, black isn't a color, )

 

Oops... I voted even though I have an '08. Garnet Ember is just beautiful!! There is one other 2008 Garnet Ember car just like mine here in my little town of Wake Forest, NC.

It's a hot car, so shouldn't it have a hot color, too!

It gets lots of looks, too. Surprised there aren't more of them out there.

I slightly prefer the red that's a wee bit brighter on the new G37 coupe but the Garnet Ember is gorgeous as well, with a hint of ruby tone, but happily not that boring, sleepy maroon look.

 

I think it is the perfect red for the sedan. The coupe can get away with a brighter red since it's a coupe. Maroon is so ugly!! Just my opinion. I, too, love the bright red, but I needed one step away from it.

I was reading somewhere - maybe on here?? - that if you wax the red, it will make it look lighter and less metallic. Or, if you want it to look darker and more metallic, use sealant.

I didn't vote because I have an 03, just commenting that I chose the only 6MT in the lot that had premium without navigation. Anyone else with me on that?

I think the results are right, I have an ob, and everywhere i turn in NY I see an bo, but I think I have the only BO sport with a wing in a 100 mile radius. Maybe that's why everyone one stares at the car

 

I too have an 08 but the colors are pretty much identical so I hope this thread is carrying over to the 08s, too.

Interesting point re waxing and sealing color variations. The dealer I bought mine from told me (after I bought the car with no mention previously) that they use PermaPlate sealant on every one of their cars. Wonder if that's a line of BS since many dealers try to extract hundreds extra for that treatment. He said they add it to all and then sell the warranty regarding the treatment for extra $$$. Hmmm. Anyone heard of a dealer adding a sealant treatment to every car for no extra charge, and without telling the customers? This dealer has changed its name twice in the past five years or so, thus I really don't know what to believe.

 

First time post, from a future '08 G35S owner.

It's strange that no one has mentioned desert platinum, paint code KX6. It's a new color for the 2008 G35, but has been an Infiniti color for a long time (i.e. Q45, I30).

I was set on buying liquid platinum until I saw a G35S in desert platinum today. The color will knock your socks off. Great depth and the color shifts subtlety from silver to light bronze.

By the way, desert platinum looks totally different from the goldish tone of seregentti sand.

Desert Platinum was available on the '03-'04 G35. First G35 I ever test drove was this color.

 

I liked the Desert Platinum so much I bought one yesterday. At first I really wanted the Lakeshore Slate and I still think LS is a great color, but the more I looked at the Desert Platinum, the more I liked it. It is amazing how much the color changes depending on how the light hits it. When matched with the Wheat interior and wood trim it makes for a really classy car IMHO.

I'd love to see DP added as a choice for the poll. I's not the same as SS.
