XM Satellite Problem

Today I noticed I am only receiving some of the XM stations, and not all of them and NavTraffic does not work. I just got the car last week and should have 3 months free trial. I am on the East Coast in NJ. Anyone else having XM issues?

Funny I noticed the same thing today. My XM was fading in and out every few seconds, losing the signal. I thought it was a problem but maybe it's an XM issue.

Just checked my wife's Acura and she gets all the stations, but they drop out intermittently. Maybe XM is having an issue?

Must be an XM issue - I usually get flawless reception..... Hmmm.
Maybe they're retasking the satellites

XM is absolutely having a problem. Go to www.xmfan.com. They think it is possibly satellite problems.

I've had my car for a week and thought for sure that trial meant only a hand full of stations just to sample. You mean we are supposed to get all the stations and NavTraffic too?

Absolutely.

And I've had XM reception problems all day too.

I haven't been able to use XM today, so I can't speak for any signal problems they have. However, as a note to some people only receiving certain channels for a while (not just today), when the radio is first activated, it doesn't seem to be an all or none thing. It takes a few minutes for complete activation, and if you tune the radio in the middle of it, you'll notice you only get certain stations. So....my guess (for those that only get certain stations) is that someone started the activation process, and then shut off the radio before it finsihed. Call XM and have them start the trial or resend the activation signal.

I too have had problems. Go to xmradio.com...today they were updating their system, which probably had something to do with the issues. Until today, this had been flawless. I am resetting my radio (to do this, you have to go to the xmradio.com site and log in) which will reprogram the xm reciever in the car. I suspect this will pass.

Found this ... XM Radio down

An XM Spokesman has provided this statement regarding the issue:

"We are experiencing a temporary degraded performance issue, which has affected some of our customers. We expect to return to normal service levels this evening."

I had horrible reception on my way into work this morning. I guess they haven't corrected the issue just yet.

Checked mine this morning and all is well again, I get all the stations and NavTriaffic is back. Have not checked reception during a driver yet though...

Question on NavTraffic, How do you know when it is working, does something come up on the screen saying connected to NavTraffic or a little symbol or something?

Couple of easy ways; first on the Map screen it should say Traffic in a little icon below the time on the upper left of the Map, if you can't see that another way to check is to hit Info button, and then choose Traffic.

Still going on as of this morning... reception just comes and goes at random.
